1 Graduating Student Account Set Up Instructions. Welcome to Casting Workbook. This guide will give you step by step instructions on how to set up your new Casting Workbook Premium Account. THE PROCESS (School Listing, Personal Fan Site and Talent Scout) SCHOOL LISTING In order for your school to promote you on Casting Workbook in the Featured Acting Schools Section you need to load in your materials (photos, resume, profile information, demo reels/clips and audio). Your account has been set up so that your portfolio IS NOT LIVE. This means that only the school co-ordinator can view your information at this time. Casting Directors and Agents cannot. You can take your time to upload your portfolio materials and not worry about the industry seeing your incomplete account. When the school verifies that all student portfolios are complete, we will activate the school listing so Casting Directors and Talent Agents can view portfolios of students at the school. Please Note: DO NOT start submitting yourself to LIVE Breakdowns on Casting Workbook at this time. You must wait until your account is fully activated and you are listed in the Talent Scout (see next page). BUILDING YOUR PERSONAL WEBSITE Every Casting Workbook Actor can create a free personal website or fan site. Fan Sites are separate from the main Casting Workbook in that Casting and Agents do not see them when they search you on the main submission system. Fan Sites are designed to give you a place to show your personality, upload set still photographs and build a representation of who you are above and beyond your professional headshot and resume. You can choose different style templates, specify your own personal website name (johndoe.workbooklive.com or karatepro.workbooklive.com) and reference the site on your resume (if you wish) on business cards or postcards. This free service can save you time and money. Information that is on your main casting workbook account is transferred to your personal fan site when you activate it on your welcome screen after you login. We recommend you hold off activating your personal website until after you load your main portfolio materials. You can turn on or turn off your personal website at any time. To start your personal website, click on the Workbook Live links at the bottom right of your welcome page when you log into your account. TALENT SCOUT When you are ready to join the workforce (be searchable by casting and agents) we will add your account to the Casting Workbook Talent Scout. Talent Scout means you are not represented and looking for an agent. If you become represented, we will add you to your new agent s roster. Once you join Talent Scout or an agent s roster your portfolio will become fully searchable and you will be regarded as available to work. You may start doing-self submissions to breakdowns at this time. Please update your resume on the school side of the system to reflect that you are represented when this happens.

2 SETTING UP YOUR GENERAL ACCOUNT INFORMATION Updating Your Personal Contact Information ( , telephone, address) (This contact information is used for Casting Workbook administration purposes and will be viewable to Casting Directors and Agents when you are listed in Talent Scout.) Step 1 Log into your account using your workbook id (6 digit number) and your assigned password. Step 2 Click on ACCOUNT, Enter your information and click the Submit button. Updating your Personal Profile Information (height, hair, eyes) (This information will copy over to an agency or your talent scout account when the time comes.) Step 1- Click on PORTFOLIO and all materials, then Edit and Profile Step 2 Enter your information and click the SUBMIT button Uploading Your Photos (Photos are common elements of your portfolio and not agent specific therefore they fall under the all materials menu item. Photos will be displayed when Agents/Casting view the school listing.) Click on PORTFOLIO and all materials, then Edit and Photos. The photo edit screen will be displayed. To ADD: Click on the empty silhouette to the left of the page, then look to the right and browse the photo file on your computer, crop, add name & Save. To DELETE/REPLACE: Click on the photo you wish to delete/replace and confirm by clicking on the button to the left. If you are replacing you will be asked to browse the new photo file on your computer, crop, add name & Save. Your portfolio account gives you space for 16 photos on your main account.

3 Updating Your School Account Profile (Profiles are unique to each agent. Your speficiations (height, weight, hair) will be displayed when Agents/Casting view the school listing.) Step 1- Click on PORTFOLIO and agent materials, then the link to your school, then Edit and Profile Step 2 Enter your information and click the SUBMIT button Setting the Default/Primary Photo for the School Listing (Every agent can choose their primary or default photo from your materials. To set your default photo for your school listing follow the steps below). Step 1- Click on PORTFOLIO and agent materials, then the link to your school, then Edit and Photos Step 2 Click on the radio button below the photo you want to set as the default or primary photo. Step 3 Click the set default photo button at the bottom of the photo list.

4 Creating Your Resume for the School Listing (Every agent can have their own resume. You need to build the resume that will appear in the school listing. This resume will also be copied to Talent Scout or a future agent if you desire). Step 1- Click on PORTFOLIO and agent materials, then the link to your school, then Edit & Resume Step 2- Specify this resume s name (remember you can have more than one), probably Resume and click the Confirm button. Select the Type In Option which allows for easier formatting of your resume. You are now ready to start building your resume.

5 Building Your Resume Resumes are built section by section (film/tv section, theatre section, training section, special skills section etc.). For your school listing resume you also need to build in a Contact Information section at the top of your resume. Step 3- Click on the New Section button. Step 4- Build Your Contact Information Section (you will be creating a new section for each grouping of information on the resume (film/tv, theatre, training, special skills) one at a time. Step 5- Create the new New Section button when you are finished this section to begin a new one. If you need more lines, click Save Resume and 5 more lines will be added to the section you are working on. When you are finished click Save Resume. You can always go back and edit your work.

6 Step 6 Make sure there is a tick mark beside the resume name so that it is viewable otherwise it will be hidden and not viewable to agents and casting. Uploading Your Demo Reel Video (Demo reels can be uploaded as one produced piece and/or you can also upload individual clips so agents and casting can target specific scenes and pass them onto directors or producers). Step 1- Click on PORTFOLIO and agent materials, then the link to your school, then Edit and Video (wait a moment for the page to load). Step 2 Enter your clip name Step 3 - Browse for your video file on your computer Step 4 Click the UPLOAD/SAVE button If the file upload/encode is successful your page will refresh and show the uploaded file as below.

7 IMPORTANT: Remove the tick mark from the private box so the system knows this demo reel or scene clip should be seen by all. Private is for self tape auditions that are being directed to a specific casting director and should not be seen by other members. - End -
