Position Summary The Strategic Communications Specialist is responsible for implementing assigned elements of ARRT's overall strategic marketing and communications plan. This position reports to the Director of Marketing, Public Relations and Strategic Communications.

This is in sharp contrast to behavior patterns that tend to unnecessarily disappoint customers, leave them feeling forgotten and unimportant or that otherwise result in unmet needs or expectations when those needs and expectations are consistent with ARRT's Mission, Vision and Values. Communication Communicates effectively and appropriately. Uses good judgment as to what to communicate to whom as well as the best way to get that accomplished. Speaks in a clear and credible manner, selecting the right tone for the situation and audience. Listens to others and allows them to make their point. This is quite different than those who tend to select the wrong means of communicating, or who communicate information to inappropriate people. It also contrasts with those whose messages are not clear or lack credibility, as well as those who demonstrate poor listening skills and are unreceptive to feedback. Teamwork Is an effective team player who adds complementary skills and contributes valuable ideas, opinions and feedback. Communicates in an open and candid manner and can be counted upon to fulfill any commitments made to others on the team. This is distinctly different from those who withhold ideas and opinions, offer ideas or opinions that rarely add value to team discussions, have established a track record with many unmet commitments, and/or have not contributed skills that complement the skills of others on the team. 3 Duties and Responsibilities Title and Description Online Services Development and Content Management 1. Create, develop and manage content for organization s web presence (requires working with content management software) 2. Coordinate web development and other projects across departments 3. Maintain a consistent look and feel throughout all web properties 4. Working with a cross-departmental team, maintain and develop the master content calendar for all web initiatives 5. Copyedit and proofread all web content 6. Working with outside consultants, including writers, copyeditors and community outreach organizers 7. Keep current with emerging web technologies 8. Assure web-based information is archived for future needs and reference 9. Track and report on all site metrics 10. Work in partnership with IT, key ARRT team members, and vendors Project Coordination 1. Provides project coordination of internal and external marketing and communications activities including timelines, task prioritization, budget, project/organizational objectives, effective meeting management, and keeping stake holders engaged/informed of progress. 2. Project could include: newsletters; multi-media development; print material development; online development; online content management; events and conferences 3. Participate in projects and project teams as assigned to provide customer-centered strategic communications counsel and direction as new initiatives are planned and implemented Journalism 1. Seeks appropriate information sources and writes audience-specific copy to meet communications objectives 2. Some required writing styles include: web content; instructional; persuasive/promotional; internal audience; social media; news release Vendor Relationships 1. Develops and maintains effective vendor relationships, including providing clear expectations to ensure efficient use of resources and successful project outcomes Branding and Marketing 1. Assists with defining organizational brand and promoting understanding and compliance with internal/external stakeholders 2. Assists with development and execution of marketing and communications plans in alignment with organizational strategies Research 1. Lead or participate in development/execution of research needed to further projects or develop marketing and communications plans Administrative 1. Performs some limited administrative tasks, including monitoring and coordinating responses for social media and other communications vehicles, copyright applications, maintaining media distribution lists, shared electronic/paper files, sourcing vendors, electronic and postal mailings, etc
