4 Telesystem s Epiphany Hosted Stations Phone Solution Saves Springfield Local Schools Over $120,000 Springfield Local Schools recently decided to replace their premise-based PBX system and provider, opting for Telesystem s feature rich Epiphany Hosted Stations solution. This move will save the district more than $120,000 over the next five years. Benefitting from the savings, the district was able to augment safety and security by installing a phone into each classroom within every school. The Epiphany Hosted Station Phone System is a Hosted IP-PBX/Centrex System that utilizes Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) to deliver the capabilities and functionality typically found in premise-based phone systems. Springfield Schools will receive enhanced features and functionality without the expense of purchasing or maintaining new equipment since the carrier-class feature servers are housed in the Telesystem Network Operations Center. The solution will also combine Telesystem s Metro-Ethernet Network and Springfield s existing IP network to deliver high definition voice service over a private Ethernet connection. Additionally, Telesystem will be installing over 300 hosted station phones throughout the school districts multiple locations. At Springfield Schools we depend on a robust communications infrastructure to ensure the district runs smoothly and to keep our middle school, high school and four elementary schools connected. Families also expect easy access to teachers and personnel, so reliability was an absolute requirement, said Jason Dugan, Director of Technology at Springfield Local Schools.
