1 Incubated IT Start-Ups Reliable Partners Radu Ticiu executive director 1 Introduction the first business incubator focused on IT development in the Western part of Romania a common project of Politehnica University of Timişoara, Timişoara City Council and Timiş County Council supported by German Agency for Technical Co-operation mainly local funding (vs national/external funding) conceived as a local development instrument developed as a measure to reverse the high migration rate of local Computer Science graduates in 90s 2
2 Mission Timisoara Software Business Incubator will foster the start-up and growth of software companies founded by students and young university graduates of high technology specialization (Automation, Computer Sciences, Electronics, Communications, Informatics), providing them business infrastructure and assistance and an adequate office space in favoured financial terms. 3 Services Office space rental: - 16 incubation units (20 or 40 sqm) - monthly rent 10 euro/sqm ( 60% subsidized) -access to communication networks -access to meeting & training rooms Basic secretarial services: - phone switchboard - faxing, scanning, copying, color printing - incoming mail sorting & outgoing mail preparation 4
