1 Julie Accorsi 15 Hello! My name is Julie Accorsi and I am from Harvard, MA. I am currently a senior majoring in Psychology and Education (Option 1) in pursuit of a teacher licensure for Early Childhood. I studied abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark my junior year and was able to observe the Danish education system. I have experience as a substitute teacher for Kindergarten to 5 th grade and have also spent time at Gorse, Crocker Farm Elementary School and Fort River Elementary School. This past summer I worked as an intern at Tuft s TEDCC and served as a field trip teacher for two classrooms. 3 Gen Borrino 16 Hi! My name is Gen Borrino, and I m a junior majoring in psychology and biology with a focus on animal behavior and cognition. I spent this past summer as an intern at the Yale Canine Cognition Center, and I m currently collaborating with researchers there on an independent study. In the past, I ve worked in Professor Hollis s Antlyon lab looking at learning in insects, and in Professor Schwartzer s lab studying an animal model of autism spectrum disorders. 4 Katie Gill 15 Hey everybody! I'm a psychology major and cognitive neuroscience minor from Kittery, Maine. I have a broad range of interests in psychology and have dabbled in a few areas including developmental, cognitive, and behavioral neuroscience. I've been involved in research at MHC over the summer with Kathy Binder, during the academic year with Jared Schwartzer, and this past summer I participated in a developmental research internship at the University of Virginia. 5 Danielle Goua, 15 Hello! My name is Danielle and I am a senior Psychology and Education major pursuing an Early Childhood Licensure. I currently live in Brooklyn, NY and I am from the Ivory Coast. Last summer, I interned as an English Teaching Assistant in Southern Spain; the skills that I learned from being in the Licensure program helped me to connect with my students as well as create lesson plans that catered to their needs. Some of the clubs I belong to on campus are Mount Holyoke s African and Caribbean Student Association (MHACASA) and the MHC:Teach (Ed Club.) 8 Nadejda Stancioff 15 Hey! I m Nadejda from Camden, Maine, majoring in Psychology and Education and it s my senior year at Mount Holyoke! I took a semester off during my sophomore year and traveled for 6 months in Brazil, Peru and Ecuador. My interests in regards to Psychology and Education include child development, abnormal psychology through an alternative therapy lens, wilderness and outdoor therapy, social justice within the education system and the intersection of identities and the roles competing narratives play as well as many other interests (the list is too long). During my time in her lab, I had the chance to carry out two research projects related to reading behaviors and comprehension ability. Since I truly enjoyed the experience, I am still currently working on Professor Binder s collected data even though she is on sabbatical this year.
