Design is multi faceted and multi disciplined and invokes various opinions. This Stream provides a facilitated open forum that will encourage discussion on the questions related to SiD. It will be introduced by thought provoking comment from a panel of Safety & Design professionals and then stimulate and collect knowledge and ideas around: the breadth of the SiD field; it's length by way of considering what is and what is not included; and then, time permitting, work on what should be included in a scope definition that supports a suitable set of Safe Design titles. It is hoped that this will provide a platform for future detailed research and discussion to formulate the body of knowledge for designers, engineers and the Generalist OHS Professional. Whatever the outcome, this will be a lively exchange of knowledge that should not be missed Session Moderator: Dr John Culvenor, Independent consultant in ergonomics and occupational safety The Role of Due Diligence Engineering Gaye Francis, Risk Management & Due Diligence Consulting Engineer and Director, R2A A Risk Engineering Perspective Ian Ackland, Ackland EQS Management Systems A Standards Approach Marcus Punch, Director, Marcus Punch Risk and Reliability Pty System Design Mike Dean, Director, EUC Engineering Design for Prevention Stephen Young, Victorian Institute of Occupational Safety and Health Safety in Design and its implementation John Giles, Principal, Appleseed Engineering Engineered Safety Mike Hurd, Proprietor, Engineering Systems Management Opportunity in Design Pedram Danesh-mand, Director: Risk Management, NSW President, Risk Engineering Society (RES) Morning Tea
