Traditionally, staff development has been driven by the Central office addressing a specific initiative. Current research and direction from the National Staff Development Council has us moving toward job-embedded staff development; training provided in the context of the job with targeted follow-up. Additionally, graduate level courses are being offered in mathematics and reading with specific schoolbased follow-up.
