1 JOB SCRPTON Post: Reporting to: Lecturer in lectrical and lectronic ngineering irector of Learning Summary of Role: To teach and assess on lectrical and lectronic ngineering programmes. There may be a requirement to teach on other related programmes. This role includes course co-ordination. Key Tasks: To be responsible to the irector of Learning for an agreed teaching programme in lectrical and lectronic ngineering and other related areas determined within the prevailing conditions of service. Some teaching or other activities may be required beyond the normal term dates. n addition to teaching duties, the post holder will undertake a range of administrative and developmental duties and contribute to the successful organisation and anticipated growth of the market sector and the College. This will include planning and implementation of schemes of work, lessons etc. as required by course teams. To ensure that all records and information are available prior to course starting dates and on a continuing basis, for use in the event of sickness or absence. nitially required to teach lectronic and lectrical ngineering but may be required to teach on any other course offered by the College for which the post holder is appropriately qualified. To ensure all Health and Safety procedures are followed and assist in the maintenance of high standards of Health and Safety throughout the College. To contribute fully to the co-ordination, development, promotion and delivery of the range of courses offered by the College as required and will promote, manage and develop appropriate short courses as led by market forces or local/national needs. To participate in the promotion of courses including marketing events, dealing with course enquiries and recruitment to courses, etc. in compliance with College policies. Work experience is an integral part of many courses and the post holder will be expected to assist in finding and monitoring work experience placements and in liaising with employers and the College Work xperience Officer and Advisor to provide quality links. To assist in ensuring that expected standards of students' behaviour are adhered to. To attend staff meetings, meetings with moderators/verifiers, parents' evenings, industry updating/staff development and training events etc. as required by the irector of Learning. To participate in/arrange approved student visits, trips etc as and when required in accordance with College procedures.

2 To maintain records of work and student attendance, progress and assessment in accordance with approved procedures and will provide reports as requested by other Course Co-ordinators, irectors of Learning, Assistant Principals, eputy Principal and the Principal. To undertake assessment and internal verification activities in accordance with the requirements of the relevant qualifications awarding bodies and the College s internal quality assurance procedures. nsure nformation Learning Technology (LT) is a driving force to create an efficient and effective working and learning environment. To regularly evaluate course inputs through course teams, staff development and student feedback. n accordance with the College s quality procedures, implement and monitor the selfassessment process and ensure continuous quality improvement of standards of performance in teaching and learning. To adhere to College procedures in relation to all income and expenditure. To participate in the College s Appraisal and Review process. To work in accordance with the College s quality and iversity Policy at all times. To commit to and uphold, the College s nvironmental Policies and aspirations for sustainable learning provision. To undertake other duties as may be determined from time to time within the general scope of the post. Further Notes: 1. The College requires all unqualified new entrants to the Further ducation teaching profession to obtain an appropriate qualification within an agreed period. 3. Terms and Conditions: Salary range: Unqualified: 23,547-24,960 Qualified: 25,704-31,599 Further progression: 32,550-33,516 Pension: Membership of the Teachers Pension Scheme Progression: Further progression on the harmonised salary scale is achieved by application in conjunction with a portfolio of evidence, demonstrating a continuing and improving high standard of competence and effectiveness over a 3 year period. Holiday: Holiday entitlement of 37 days per annum (42 days for the academic year 2013/2014**). n addition, you are entitled to 8 bank/statutory holidays and 3 concessionary days to be taken on specified days over the Christmas/New Year period to coincide with the closure of the College. Notes for isabled Candidates: Mobility to access all areas of the College is essential; ramps and lift access are available to most buildings with the College.
