IInttrroducttiion This plugin allows TCPOS customers recharging prepaid customer cards by web, and to display the detail of transactions carried out. An example of installation could be a school that assigns a customer card to students be used for paying meals at the cantine, or to avail the vending machine present inside the institution. The pupils parents recharge the card by connecting from home to the specific web page and paying with their own credit card. The student will purchase the meal by using the customer card at the till. In order to have the complete control over the use of their son s card, parents may verify the balance any moment by interrogating the statement of account via web. Note As complement of this documentation, it is suggested to read also the document entitled How to install a Silverlight application featured on the wiki.tcpos.com website (see following pages).
Web page layout After installation, the standard layout of the mask is shown as follows. This example features some lateral areas named empty line, first column, third column and a central area where the TCPOS program works. This design is only an example and will never be used in a productive environment. The html language syntax allows web designers to easily integrate the TCPOS application in their customers web page. The code portion included in the definitive web page is contained between the tags <object> and </object> (see below).
Access to complementary documentation Launch the wiki.tcpos.com web page Log-in with your username and password enter Silverlight to launch the search, the mask featured herein below displays the page indicated. if wished, it is also possible to print the document
Suggestions to make installation easier This plugin needs.net Framework version 3.5 SP1 the Microsoft Silverlight 2 program (only on the machine used to launch the browser) in order to work properly. At a certain point of the procedure, they must be installed on the machines. It is possibile to download both programs from the corresponding web pages, but this could take quite a while depending on the transmission quality of the network. Therefore, to speed up the process, it is suggested downloading the software before installing and saving these files on a support (E.G.: USB key), in order to have them available when requested.
TCPOS web applliicattiions:: tthe conceptts In TCPOS, Silverlight applications are composed by two main parts : SILVERLIGHT APPLICATION operating on the CLIENT BROWSER WINDOWS SERVICE operating on the SERVER WEB Composed by : WEB SERVICE, used by the Silverlight application to access the DB http SERVER used to publish simple web pages SILVERLIGHT application Configuration Files This document explains the WebAccountManager installation process.
The WebAccounttManagerr pllugiin The plugin is contained in a zip and must be uncompressed in a working directory
Plugin contents Directory Description \ The.sql file that updates/creates the tables used by the plugin is placed in the root plugins\ This directory contains the files to be installed in Admin and in FrontEnd server\ The part that is going be installed on the Web server is contained in the omonimous directory
IInsttallllattiion worrkffllow Steps to be followed : If possible, obtain the below mentioned programs to copy them on an USB key (please refer to the chapter regarding the suggestions). If not possible, please download them from the related web sites, the first during the installation procedure, the second during the execution in the browser application Unzip the plugin in a working directory Launch the AccountManager_Oracle.sql file to update the database Install Admin o Configure Admin parameters Implement the web service on the server o o o o o Copy the WebAccountManagerServer directory on the server Configure the Web.AccountManager.Server.exe.config file Configure the TCPOS.AccountManager.html file Configure the Service.References.ClientConfig file Install and activate the TCPOS.Web.AccountManager.Server service Check the.net Framework version installed and eventual update Install and activate the service Web page activation on the server for functional test o o o Launch Web page Eventual installation of the Microsoft Silverlight program F5 on web page to update the mask Activation of the web page on a client (PC) for functional test o o o Launch Web page Installation of the Microsoft Silverlight program F5 on web page to update the mask Install FrontEnd on the till (client)
Admin implementation If not available, create the directory TCPOS\Admin\Executables\versione\plugins (where version corresponds to the number of the version currently used by the Admin program, E.G ) and copy the Plugin.WebAccountManager.Admin.dll. file and Plugin.WebAccountManager.Admin.dic file. Subsequently, launch the Admin program to set the mandatory parameters for using the web page The meaning of the fields is explained in the following pages.
Meaning of the fields Campo Welcome message Description Message shown on top center of the login mask Mandatory. Till for prepayments Till used to store prepayment done by Web in TCPOS Optional It must be of type Virtual till. If this parameter is not defined, prepayment via web is not possible; there is no Load card button on the Main web page, the application enables only the interrogation of the statement of account. Card load payment Credit card payment used to generate prepayments via web Optional If this parameter is not defined, prepayment via web is not possible; there is no Load card button on the Main web page, the application enables only the interrogation of the statement of account. Prepayment description Payment description, passed to the credit card authorisation server Optional The customer will see this description in the statement of the credit card. If this parameter is not defined, prepayment via web is not possible; there is no Load card button on the Main web page, the application enables only the interrogation of the statement of account. Logout timeout Automatic logout via web from the prepayment mask Mandatory If the user connected to the web mask does not carry out any activity in the specific time, it is carried out an automatic logout. It will be necessary to re-enter code and password. Minimum value is 30 seconds. Web user must enter his address Mandatory entry of user s Optional is useful to communicate with the customer; E.G. in the case he has forgotten his password. With active flag, the program requires to enter your own address and, once defined, the request vanishes. Web user is identified with customer code Customer s identification used during the login procedure Optional Depending on the setting of this flag, during the loging procedure, the user login is identified by : = code described in the Code field = card number described in the Card number field both stored in the customer s base data.
WEB SERVICE implementation on the server At first, copy the directory in the TCPOS directory, C:\TEMP\WebAccountManagerServer on the server containing files to be configured. Configure the Web.AccountManager.Server.exe.config file Configure the TCPOS.AccountManager.html file Configure the Service.References.ClientConfig file Install and activate the TCPOS.Web.AccountManager.Server service o o Check the.net Framework of the installed version and its eventual updating Installation and activation of the service
Configuration of the Web.AccountManager.Server.exe.config file Edit the configuration files to set the parameters At first, it is necessary to indicate the path hosting the DbAliases.ini file of the Server service to the program
Search the string indicating the dbalias parameter and replace it with the proper one stored in the DbAliases.ini file
Standard configuration indicates that the service uses port 80, as encoded in parameters shown herein below. Check if the port is used through the telnet command; if it is the case, change the number of both parameters. The message visible in this mask indicates that the port is unused. Save file changes.
Configuration of the TCPOS.AccountManager.html file In the DataFiles subdirectory edit this file with Notepad (or another editor), to set the address of the web server and the default language of the web page
Configuration of the Service.References.ClientConfig file Application written in Silverlight is placed in this.xap package, which must be renamed.zip in order to be managed. This zip contains the following files; you have to modify the ServiceReferences.ClientConfig configuration file
Now, double click on the zip and extract the files to be modified: Inside the new folder, edit the ServiceReferences.ClientConfig configuration file and search the string to be modified, by entering the public address of the sever : Save the changed file and copy in the same directory of the TCPOS.Web.AccountManager.zip file in order to replace the file in the zip with the changed one. To make this replacement, just select the ServiceReferences.ClientConfig file and drag it in the TCPOS.Web.AccountManager.zip zip file. By doing so, the file inside the zip is automatically replaced.
Lastly, rename the zip file with the.xap extension and delete the file and the eventual directory used as support for the adjustment At the end of all operations, the directory looks again as in the image herein above, while the.xap file now contains the adjusted configuration file
Installation and activation of the TCPOS.Web.AccountManager.Server service Note Keep in mind that when you double click the file, it will be executed as a normal application without any installation.
Step 1 : control.net Framework version installed The TCPOS web application needs the.net Framework versione 3.5 SP1 in order to function properly; the service doesn t work with with previous versions. It is then possible to launch the wiki.tcpos.com web page (as already explained in in chapter How to access complementary documentation of this guide) and, after finding the documentation inherent to the Silverlight applications, search for the download link of the correct framework. Depending on network performance, the download procedure may take a long time; it is suggested to download the files prior to installation and save them on an USB key for using them when requested. Once the program is downloaded, double click and install.
Step 2 : Installation and activation of the service It is now possible to proceed with the installation of the service Indicate the correct path of the TCPOS.Web.AccountManager.Server.exe file follown by the /install parameter If the installation process is correct, the related confirmation message is displayed
At this point, you can already verify if the application is ready by interrogating the Services files created automatically by the installation can be seen by interrogating the directory :
WEB page activation on the server for functional test Enter the name of the page to be launched in the browser (notation (the //localhost/ parameter will be replaced on the client by the address of the server) The empty page is displayed, in our example the Silverlight program hasn t been installed yet
Click the icon to download and install Also in this case, we invite you to download the files prior to installation and save them on an USB key for using them when requested. When the installation ends, press F5 to update the web page and wait for the connection
If the procedure was properly executed, the initial page of the TCPOS.AccountManager.html web application will be displayed Note To be sure, when the procedure just described works properly, it is suggested to verify on another pc that the application is launched correctly from any position. If any problem occur, refer to the chapter Troubleshooting, featured in this document.
FrontEnd implementation on client (till) Considering that it is not possible to update the balance stored on the customer card with a web transaction, (no hardware device available), it is necessary to make this operation as soon the card is read at the till. This part of the plugin is installed on the till and is necessary to update the balance stored on the customer card with the value of the transaction generated via web, as soon the client goes to the till. Therefore, this part must be installed only if the customer card used for the prepayment is of balance on card type. If cards of balance on DB type are used, this installation is not needed.
Plugin installation If not available, create the directory TCPOS\FrontEnd\Executables\version\plugins (where version corresponds to the version number currently used by the FrontEnd program, E.G ) and copy the files Plugin.WebAccountManager.FrontEnd.dll and Plugin.WebAccountManager.FrontEnd.dic in it. Launch the FrontEnd program.
Resolution of installation problems occurring when launching the web page If in place of the initial page, it is displayed an error message it is possible to control the traces on the server to better focus on the problem
Problems that may occur during the installation process If, when connecting to the web, the browser doesn t display the initial page it means that an error has occurred. The following pages explain some of the most common error that may happen during the installation.
Case 1 : The TCPOS.WebAccountManager service was not active The connection with the initial web page is activated, the following page is displayed at its place : In this case, first thing to do is to check that the TCPOS web service is active :
Case 2 : Oracle was not active The connection with the initial web page is activated, the following page is displayed at its place : In this case, first thing to do is to check that the Oracle services are active :
Case 3 : Services are correctly activated but the initial page is not displayed The connection with the initial web page is activated, but the following page is displayed at its place : From a first check, it results that both Oracle that the service are active. If the problem arises on the till, it is possible to search the TCPOS.Trace file by using Windows search and control its content, to see if there are further information. In our example, it is resulted that the correspondence between the parameters of the ServiceReferences.ClientConfig configuration file and the parameters of the TCPOS.AccountManager.html file was missing.
The problem was solved by adjusting the file ServiceReferences.ClientConfig
Case 4 : Initial page is completely empty The extension of the TCPOS.Web.AccountManager.xap file was wrong since it hasn t been renamed.xap after modifying the file content inside it. The file worked immediately after being renamed and having re-entered the web address (or by pressing F5 on the same web page).
Case 5 : Error of communication with the server During the tests, the firewall prevented the access to the Database.
Functtiioniing off tthe WebAccounttManagementt applliicattiion After entering the address of the page, the browser displays the following mask. At this point, there are two possible actions : access the customer card management program if the old password has been forgotten, request a new one
Access to the customer card management program Enter new card number and password. Press the Login button. The new card number must be entered exactly as stored in the base data, including eventual zeros : Attention : There is no manual logout procedure existing. It is automatically carried out by the program when the inactivity period defined in the Logout timeout parameter has expired.
If it is the first time the customer accesses the page, and the related flag is active, the program asks to enter the address : The address must be recorded in the Personal information page
At this point, it is possible to interrogate your own data
Recharging the prepaid card via web Attention The plugin is provided with an emulator of authorisations for web payments, which, in case you are using customer card with balance stored on card, works only if the recharge is done by launching the web page from the server. The procedure doesn t work if you use a client. It is possible to connect and interrogate the statement of account from the client, but not to generate recharge transactions. In the event of a till equipped with a card reader, it is instead possible to test the balance update operation of the customer card with balance stored on card with the amount of the transaction generated via web. Otherwise, if tests are carried out with customer cards of balance stored on DB type, there are no limits of use existing.
Step 1: Recharge operation with web pages When on this page, press the Load card key to access the page featuring the recharge functions
Press the button corresponding to the amount desired and press Continue : At this point, the program connects to the credit card data entry web page; in our example, the following masks refer to an emulator integrated in the form that enables to carry out the tests. You must remember that this emulator works only if the test is carried out on a server where the web service is installed. The emulator doesn t work on the client. Note Success link = ip address of the computer that makes the call NotifyUrl = ip address of the computer where the emulator is running. In order to simulate the confirmation of the carried out payment, press the Success button and the program will return to the initial page. At this point, if the card doesn t have any balance stored on card, the procedure is terminated, otherwise if the card with balance-on card, the procedure proceeds with step 2 explained in the following pages.
Note : The site grants the authorisation that generates the customer document corresponding to the recharge. The recharge hasn t been stored on the card yet, therefore it is left at 0 also reentering the balance. but the transaction is visible in Transaction Control.
Step 2 : Card update with balance stored on card This step must be carried out only if the card used is of customer card with balance on card type. When the customer goes to the till, the customer card is read and the program recognises that his balance doesn t include the operation carried out by web and, therefore, it predispose itself for the update : By pressing the Total button, the program prints the recharge ticket for the customer, updating the balance on card and subsequently asks to remove the card from the reader.
With a second reading, it is shown that the balance stored in the card has been updated with the one of the database. Moreover, by connecting via web to interrogate the card data, the balance results updated.
There are two operations visible in the statement of account: the recharge carried out via web with the 22 card loader till encoded in the web parameters and the update of the balance stored on card, with the till where it was carried out.
Query of the statement of account From this page, it is possible to interrogate the movement carried out monthly with the customer card. To move in the period time, use the Previous month and Next month buttons
Request Password Enter your own card number to prevent errors before pressing the button, After pressing the Re-send password button, the program uses the address stored in the data of his customer on the Personal information page to send the password.
The program sends the customer a mail with the new password. Smith, David
