3 Company Overview Energy Savings Performance Contracting upgrade facilities, reduce consumption, and lower energy bills with no impact to capital or energy budgets. In an Energy Savings Performance Contracting (ESPC) project, you ll be replacing old, inefficient, high-maintenance equipment with new state-of-theart energy-efficient equipment with no capital outlay or budgetary risk. ConEdison Solutions first performs an assessment to determine the potential energy savings that can be achieved. We evaluate the application of new energy-efficient equipment such as heating, cooling, ventilation, controls, lighting, and motors. We will also look at the building envelope, including windows and roofs, and, where possible, water savings opportunities. Our assessment can include recommendations for the use of renewable energy sources such as solar photovoltaics and geothermal. We can also assess the environmental impact of each measure and develop a strategy for your facility to be Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified. Finally, with an ESPC project, your savings are guaranteed or we pay you the difference. Our Heritage and Experience ConEdison Solutions is a leading energy services company that provides competitive power supply, renewable energy, sustainability services, and cost-effective energy solutions for commercial, industrial, residential, government, public school districts, and higher education customers. Operating in key deregulated electricity markets, and ranked by KEMA among the largest retail electricity suppliers in the nation, ConEdison Solutions offers unique electricity supply options and environmentally-friendly power alternatives to help businesses achieve energy objectives.

6 100 Summit Lake Drive Valhalla, NY Electricity Options Help Businesses Save Money and Achieve Green Objectives Savvy businesses throughout the Northeast have been reaping the benefits of electricity competition for years, working with licensed energy suppliers like ConEdison Solutions to secure electricity agreements that save them money, enable them to budget with confidence, and allow them to take advantage of green power options. Now, armed with knowledge about the latest incentives and competitive offers, it s time for businesses that haven t enjoyed the benefits of electricity competition to take a second look. Taking advantage of the options available as a result of electricity competition can help businesses save money, meet environmental goals, and secure stable electricity prices. While most people in the Northeast know the name Con Edison, not everyone is familiar with ConEdison Solutions. Operating under the ConEdison Solutions name since 1997 when the competitive electricity markets first began, ConEdison Solutions, a competitive energy subsidiary of Consolidated Edison, Inc. (NYSE:ED) was established to provide customers with cost-effective energy solutions. Competitive electricity procurement options, energy optimization, wind power supply alternatives, and Solar Power Purchase Agreements are among the products and services the company offers. OK, so what s the difference between Con Edison, the utility we all know well, and ConEdison Solutions, its sister company in the competitive energy industry? Like PSE&G, JCP&L, PECO, PPL, and other utilities throughout the Northeast, Con Edison, delivers power to consumers through its power lines. ConEdison Solutions, on the other hand, is not a utility company and does not own power lines or deliver power to consumers. Instead, ConEdison Solutions provides consumers with alternative options for purchasing their power supply. Regardless of who purchases the power on the consumer s behalf, the local utility company is responsible for delivering that power and ensuring that it is delivered in a reliable manner. So how does this benefit businesses? Many businesses, particularly those that are concerned about their energy use, have turned to ConEdison Solutions for alternatives that allow them to meet their business objectives whether it s to save money on electricity, earn money by participating in established demand response programs, meet environmental goals, or secure stable prices. ConEdison Solutions offers businesses electricity purchasing options such as a stable fixed price for periods from 3 to 36 months, variable price options that allow businesses to benefit from energy price decreases and market fluctuations, or wind power options that allow them to purchase electricity from environmentally-friendly sources for 10 to 100 percent of their electricity needs. In 2010, ConEdison Solutions launched a new offer to businesses in New Jersey. Qualified businesses can work with ConEdison Solutions to install solar panels at their facility, at no cost. This is done through a power purchase agreement (PPA), where ConEdison Solutions installs and owns the solar panels and bears the capital cost, and the business purchases the power at an agreed upon rate for 10 to 20 years. State incentives in New Jersey enable businesses to lock in a known price through a Solar Power Purchase Agreement while saving 10 to 40 percent over their utility s current electricity rate. So why is now a great time to take a second look and consider buying power from ConEdison Solutions? For one, favorable incentives for solar power are now available in New Jersey but may not be as lucrative in the future. Second, electricity prices today are now lower than they ve been for most of the last decade. ConEdison Solutions can help businesses take advantage of low market prices to secure a lower price on their electricity usage. Third, at a time of rising costs for other commodities, securing a lower electricity price can reduce operational costs significantly and help businesses budget with confidence. Green alternatives like wind power are now more affordable than they ve been in years, and environmentally-conscious businesses can spend a minimal amount to buy all or part of their power from a renewable source. Whether you are looking to save money now, create new revenue streams through energy optimization programs, take advantage of green power alternatives like wind and solar power, or secure power through an alternative plan like a longer-term fixed price plan or a variable plan, working with a supplier like ConEdison Solutions gives your business options to maximize the value of your energy.
