3 IADE - CREATIVE UNIVERSITY Over the last four decades IADE has been a reference as a school that arouses creativity, talent and leadership in its students. We try to induce in our students the concept of never letting go, stimulating their talent, seeking success and accepting risk as an inspirational source, so they can become the best, either in their professional life and future market integration, either at their own personal level. IADE was created back in 1969 bearing the name Instituto de Arte e Decoração and it was then a pioneer in Design teaching in Portugal. In 2012 IADE has reached to the status of Instituto Universitário (University Institution). The Council of Ministers approved the legal diploma that allows IADE the public interest recognition, thus opening the possibility for the Institute to draw a modern Doctoral programme in Design, built in axis lyke creativity and internationalization. The aim is positioning this formation as one of the top options at a global level. Library António Quadros 2nd cycle studies also allow the preparation both for teaching or research in areas belonging to Visual Design, Industrial Design, Environmental Design, Photography and Visual Culture, which in turn transfer competences to the frequency of the 3rd cycle courses PhD. FORMS OF ENTRY To hold a bachelor s degree or legal equivalent; There may also be admitted to candidacy, holders of a school curriculum, scientific or professional who is recognized as attesting the capacity to carry this cycle of studies by the Scientific Council competent institution of higher education where wish to be admitted; Transfers are also accepted candidates attending other 2nd cycle courses at other institutions of higher education; Other conditions; They can also apply for courses 2. Cycle students originating from Lusophone countries and the European Union. The recognition of degrees obtained as equivalent to required as qualifications for access to Portuguese students will be the subject of an order of the Scientific Committee and will have only effect for further study in graduate school for which you are applying.
