1 Human Resources Portal Prepared by: Devworkz Pty Ltd Platform: SharePoint 2010 Quest Web Parts: version 5.5 for SharePoint 2010 Full Suite Web parts used in this application: qsilistview, qsilistform, qsiselector, qselector, qcascadingmenu, qlistview and the qlistform Workflow solution: Nintex Workflow 2010 Line of business applications: on MS SQL Server 2008 R2 and SAP R/3 4.6c General requirements: the portal was designed to manage a full range of HR services from a single interface. In this case the organisation had a number of pre-existing applications running in SQL and an airline travel management system in SAP. These applications would continue on in their existing form. New services and processes needed to be built in SharePoint to support the evolving HR function. The existing applications needed to be integrated into SharePoint. Description and overview of the application: This application was built up from a standard SharePoint 2010 Team Site. 70 sites pages were created and linked to the qcasacdingmenu to support the underlying architecture of the solution. SOA web services were configured in SAP and stored procedures generated on the desired SQL tables and views. A new QWP skin was developed for the qcasacdingmenu to support the visual styling in SP Figure 1 this screen shot shows the navigation menu structure

2 Figure 2 shows employee master data from SQL. Master data can also reside in SharePoint By clicking the link Get full details the user is taken to a new page where a detailed view is provided. Within this view data fields can be freely placed on tabs. Confidential information can be trimmed based on an individual s permission levels. Figure 3 shows access to an individual s records. 5 HR processes and agreed business rules are managed via a number of Nintex Workflows integrated in the qlistview and the qlistform. These workflows allow for the internal activation of IT services, the administration of expense claims to performance management and regular review cycles. Figure 10 manage HR processes with Nintex WF's The on boarding workflow supports the creation of AD accounts, s, RTC and required security groups and permission. The resulting solution is friendly and familiar for end users. The configuration process is all codeless in the SharePoint layer which saves on development costs and time. It also means future enhancements can be easily added as business needs evolve. Notes: The SharePoint side of the application was configured via the core interface of the Quest Web Parts for SharePoint, SharePoint 2010, Nintex Workflow 2010 and SharePoint Designer with no custom code.
