Locke Graduate Award in Tourism $5 500 One MBA and Two PhD 15-May Tourism Management Open to a graduate student who at the time of tenure is registered full or parttime in a Master s or doctoral program in the Haskayne School of Business in either a course-based or thesis-based program in the Field of Study. Recipients may apply for a second year of funding.

Dr. Gordon Nelson Graduate in Interdisciplinary Studies $3 100 one, awarded every two years February 1 for September admission and August 1 for January admission Open to candidates entering or enrolled in a full-time PhD program in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program. To receive continued funding award holders must complete the Faculty of Graduate Studies Progress Report. Dr. Jeanette Nicholls Graduate $5 000 One Open to students who are registered in a doctoral program at the University of Calgary. Applicants must be single parents who have primary custodial responsibility for their child/children. Selection is based on academic merit. Applicants must include a statement of their parental status (Appendix A.2 - Additional Eligibility Statement of the Graduate Award Application). When a deadline falls on a weekend, applications will be accepted on the first business day following the deadline date. Open to students registered full-time in a graduate program at the University of Calgary who are presenting their work or research at major national and/or international conferences. Candidates must be either Canadian citizens or permanent residents and a resident of Alberta. An individual is eligible for one award at the Master's level and one award at the PhD level. Applicants will not be considered eligible if applying for a conference that was held more than two months prior to the current application deadline. Harry and Laura Jacques Bursary Human Resources Association of Calgary Graduate $3 200 One $ One 15-May Human Resources and Organizational Dynamics Open to candidates who at the time of tenure will be registered full-time in a thesis-based graduate program at the University of Calgary. Selection will be based on financial need and academic merit. Open to students who will have completed at least one year of full-time study in a PhD program in the Haskayne School of Business. Applicants must submit a onepage statement demonstrating their research in human resources and organizational dynamics. Students will be invited to submit the one-page statement to the Human Resources Association of Calgary for publication in their newsletter. J.B. Hyne Graduate $1 500 One Open to qualified full-time graduate students who are registered in or will be registered in the Faculty of Graduate Studies in a thesis-based doctoral program.

Petrie, QC, Memorial Bursary $ per year A maximum of four each year Open to students who are entering or enrolled full-time in either a thesis or course-based program leading to a Master s or doctoral degree at the University of Calgary. Selection will be based on financial need and academic merit. To receive continued funding award holders must complete the Bursary Progress Report from the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The Bursary Progress Report must be submitted eight weeks before the renewal date of the award and must include an updated Financial Information form, demonstrating continued financial need commensurate with the value of the award. Marion Janet and Ian Stormont Forbes Graduate s Two awards of $4,000 in the MBA program and Two awards of $7,000 in the PhD program Two MBA and two PhD annually 15-May Finance, Haskayne School of Business Open to candidates who at the time of tenure will be registered full time in an MBA or PhD program. Preference will be given to those students in Finance in the Faculty of Management at the University of Calgary. The award will be based on academic and scholarly achievement. Pepsi Bottling Group Graduate $4 000 One Open to students entering or enrolled fulltime in a doctoral degree program at the University of Calgary.

6 Peter Valentine, FCA, Graduate $2 500 One 15-May Management Open to graduate students registered fulltime or part-time in the Haskayne School of Business. All applicants are required to include with their application an original essay (minimum 10 pages double-spaced) on the subject of corporate governance, business ethics and professionalism. Selection will be based on the quality of the essay, the student s academic achievement, and community involvement as a volunteer with a non-profit organization(s) of any nature. The quality of the essay will have the greatest relative weighting in the selection process.

7 Queen Elizabeth II Graduate s Master's level - up to $10,800 and Doctoral level - up to $15,000 Variable, depending on available funds Students should consult with their graduate program office in late January for deadline information Open to qualified graduate students who are or will be, at the time of tenure, registered in a full-time Master's or doctoral program in the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Candidates must be either Canadian citizens or permanent residents and a resident of Alberta. Students whose awards begin in May are expected to carry out a full-time research program during the summer months. Student must be registered in the degree program for which the award is offered. The award cannot be transferred should the recipient transfer to another degree level. This award cannot be held in addition to funding from a major award. Richard J. Schmeelk Canada Fellowship $10,000 per term Maximum of Two per year 13-Apr Open to francophone students entering or enrolled in a full-time graduate program at the University of Calgary. All graduate programs within the Faculty of Graduate Studies are eligible. Graduate students in the Faculty of Law must be entering or enrolled in the LLB program and already hold a Bachelor's degree in a field other than law. Information on the Richard J.
