1 Finance Directorate - Business Case Pro-forma BID FOR RESOURCES This pro-forma must be used to support all bids for additional resource whether to extend or develop a new or existing business activity. This will include bids for additional staff and refurbishment/ new building work or equipment where the cost exceeds 25,000 Please note that the approval of funds to support new projects will need to be developed in line with the University s approved Project Management Methodology. The Strategic Planning Office is the lead office for the co-ordination of this activity. See: \\nwcommon\common\lss\common\exchange\projectmanagement for full guidance and documentation. Section A Outline of Proposal A1 NAME OF PROPOSAL: A2 DETAILS: Provide an outline of the proposal with supporting rationale. The proposal should be in line with the School Plan and should have been appraised against other possible options. In this section, you should give details of why this case is required, how it is to be funded, what are the benefits, e.g. increased student numbers. Describe how this project fits in with the School strategic and financial plans. What will be the result if this project is not undertaken?

The timing of the income flow(s) should be clearly identified. B3 IMPACT ON OTHER SCHOOLS/SERVICES Is this activity to be delivered wholly by your planning unit or jointly between you and others either Schools or central support functions? Identify any additional demands on or contributions required from other Planning Units, including Corporate Services (e.g. Learner Support, Estates). Have these contributions been discussed with the Heads of Planning Unit? Are any elements of this activity subject to external funding and therefore contractual arrangements with third parties?
