1 Subject: Specialisatin in Cnstructin Management Duratin: 3-5 th semester Status: The specialisatin f the elective curse f study ECTS credits: 25 Cntents f the elective curse f study: The elective Cnstructin Management is scheduled in semester 3, 4 and 5. During 3 rd semester s curse the students shuld be able t develp theretical and practical knwledge abut actins and deliverables f the key stakehlders invlved in the tender and site mbilisatin stages f a residential r cmmercial cnstructin prject. The tender phase will mainly deal with the cntractr s priced prpsal, evaluatin f tenders and finalizatin f cnstructin cntracts. In the site mbilizatin phase a pst-tender cnstructin prgramme will be develped setting frth studies f cnstructin methds and equipment t be emplyed, the cnstructin health and safety plan, resurces allcatin, activities scheduling and site and delivery lgistics. The teaching methds are internal lectures, cnsultancy and site visits. During 4 th semester s curse the students shuld be able t develp theretical and practical knwledge abut actins and deliverables f key stakehlders in the site mbilizatin and cnstructin phase f a residential r cmmercial cnstructin prject. In the site mbilisatin phase a detailed pst-tender cnstructin prgramme will be develped setting frth cre planning activities necessary fr the cmmencement f cnstructin wrks and a system fr tracking actual prject csts against the pst-tender budget. The principal issues dealt with in the cnstructin phase will lay ut the cntractrs and design prfessinals deliverables within prcess and prgress management, emplying varius traditinal and mre advanced mnitring and cntrl techniques. 5 th semester s curse is designed t bring tgether the multiple elements f the cnstructin management prgramme perfrmed within an Integrated Prject Delivery. Main issues dealt within the curse will be the tendering deliverables in the IPD, invlving the client s design prfessinal and the integrated prject team, and the deliverables f the design and build cntractr in the mbilisatin and cnstructin phase. In the end f the curse students shuld be able t acquire theretical knwledge abut a particular IPD prcess and functinal knwledge abut selected deliverables f the design and build cntractr. Output specificatins and tendering criteria based n value appraches fr the IPT. The IPT prpsal and cntract with the client. Scpe and benefits f prject risk analysis and allcatin in the IPT with emphasis n the prime cntractr. Demlitin planning and specific requirements related t waste and hazardus materials handling.
