1 Brand Identity Guidelines for Level 3 Global Partners The Blanchard brand identity system and all its components are a reflection of the Blanchard mission, vision, and culture. A unified corporate image ensures a consistent, cohesive perception of the brand. As part of the Blanchard Global Partner Network, you also represent Blanchard. By following these guidelines you benefit from the brand, protect our corporate identity, and build brand recognition. These guidelines are intended for Level 3 Global Partners. COBRANDING Company Name The shortened name for The Ken Blanchard Companies is Blanchard. Use Blanchard, not Ken Blanchard Companies or KBC as an abbreviation in all internal and external communications. The Ken Blanchard Companies is a singular, collective noun and should be followed by a singular verb. The registration mark must appear in superscript after the full or shortened company name in all headlines and the first time it appears in text. Blanchard Partner Network Logos Level 3 Global Partners do not have approval to use The Ken Blanchard Companies or Blanchard International logos. Your approved Blanchard Global Partner Network logo must appear on all cobranded marketing materials and promotions. The logo must not be redrawn, reproportioned, or modified in any way. Altering the logo in any way will weaken its ability to communicate and may endanger the extent of our legal protection. In order to preserve the integrity of the logo, please use only Blanchard-authorized artwork. All authorized artwork is available on the Global Partner Portal. Minimum Clear Space The logo should always have adequate clear space around it, separating it from surrounding elements. The space should be equal to or greater than the height of the letter B in Blanchard, around all sides of the logo. For cobranded pieces where two logos appear on one visual surface, the Blanchard Partner Network logo should be placed in the opposite corner of your company logo. Do not place the Blanchard Partner Network logo on top of, below, or side by side with another logo. The only exception is in your signature (see Signatures on page 2) The Ken Blanchard Companies. 2 Logo Size As a rule, the logo should not appear larger than 2.25 inches wide, or smaller than 1.5 inches wide. The exceptions to this logo size rule are larger pieces such as posters, and smaller pieces such as this manual. Logo Colors The logo may be used in black or white only. Do not place the logo on a low-contrast background. Do not place the logo against a busy or cluttered background. Signatures The standard Blanchard signature includes name, title, company phone, company address, and website URL. Use Calibri point size 10 for these lines. Following your contact information is your company logo. Under your company logo you may include the Blanchard Partner Network information in text or the logo. See Samples A and B. Business Cards Sample A Sample B On the back side of your business card you may include your approved Blanchard Partner Network logo in the bottom left-hand corner of the card. 3 ONE-TO-ONE SELLING TOOLS PowerPoint Presentations Use your own company PowerPoint template for sales and marketing presentations. Any PowerPoint slides that reference Blanchard or its programs must include your approved Blanchard Global Partner Network logo. The Blanchard Global Partner Network logo should appear in the bottom left-hand corner of the slide when possible. Your logo may be placed in the bottom right-hand corner on the slides as shown in the diagram to the right. Product Marketing Literature Marketing literature templates for cobranding are available on the Global Partner Portal. The templates that are prepopulated with Blanchard product information have two key editable areas where you can enter your information: 1) On the right-hand side of the front of each document is space for you to add your logo and boilerplate. 2) The bottom footer is editable so you can add your contact information. Also available on the Global Partner Portal are template shells that you can copy from the approved Blanchard Product Copy Points document and paste into the template shell. The Blanchard Product Copy Points document is available on the Global Partner Portal along with the templates. If you are using your own marketing template to promote Blanchard programs, you must display the Blanchard Global Partner Network logo on the first page. The Blanchard Global Partner Network logo should appear in the opposite corner of your company logo and both logos should be shown in equivalent size. 4 RESTRICTIONS Advertising and Promoting Products Some Blanchard products are unadvertised (such as 1-Day SLII Concepts, and Intro to SLII training). Describing these products in sales PowerPoint presentations and product data sheets is allowed in one-to-one sales discovery. However, unadvertised means that these products are not to be described on websites, marketing, direct mail, publicity, or social media. Positioning SLII The value proposition of SLII is widely advertised, not the design format. Leave the design option for sales conversations. The 1-Day SLII Concepts, and Intro to SLII training designs are unadvertised. SLII Logo Standards The SLII Experience TM 2-day design is our best practice offer and is widely publicized The logo is to be used only in conjunction with the SLII product and related SLII suite products and promotions. It can be used in accordance with the guidelines noted in this section. The SLII logo can be used in any materials that pertain specifically to the product. This could include product advertising, website content about the product, product brochures, product presentation materials, product sales training materials, or end-user product documentation. It should not be used in general promotional materials about the company, outside the context of the associated product. Minimum Clear Space The SLII logo should always have adequate clear space around it, separating it from surrounding elements, to ensure maximum prominence and visual impact. The space around it should be equal to or greater than one third of the height of the logo around all sides of the logo. SLII Logo Size The size of the SLII logo should not appear larger than 2 inches wide or smaller than half an inch wide. The exceptions to this logo size rule are larger pieces such as posters and smaller pieces such as this manual. 5 Incorrect SLII Logo Usage Do not use more than one SLII logo per visual surface, without explicit review and approval from Marketing. Do not use the logo with or as part of another logo or symbol or create a logo-like graphic that competes with the logo. Do not stretch, reproportion, rotate, tilt, invert, spin, angle, pivot, or alter the logo in any way, without explicit review and approval from Marketing. Do not skew, bevel, fold, dimensionalize, add a drop shadow, or otherwise alter the shape of the logo. Do not remove the trademark designation (TM) or change its position within the logo. All permission requests to use the logo should be approved by Marketing.* SLII Logo Colors The logo may be used in black, white, and gray only. Approved background color application includes black on white, white on black or gray, and gray on white or black. Do not apply the logo on low-contrast backgrounds. In order to preserve the integrity of the logos, please use only The Ken Blanchard Companies authorized artwork. All artwork is available on the Global Partner Portal. For more information about accessing the FTP site, please contact Online Guidelines Websites Blanchard approved text, available from the Blanchard Product Copy Points document available on the Global Partner Portal, and Global Partner logo (pg. 1) shall be used on your own website landing page along with links to the Blanchard corporate website. Your Blanchard landing page and any supporting pages must be approved by Blanchard prior to publication. LinkedIn Postings You may use the Blanchard Global Partner Network Logo on your LinkedIn Profile. You may use the following sample statement to promote yourself as a Blanchard Global Partner in LinkedIn: As an approved Global Partner within the Blanchard Partner Network, [ABC Company] is licensed to market, sell, and train Situational Leadership II, Situational Self Leadership, and Situational Frontline Leadership, etc. [fill in qualified products]. * For any need to create marketing materials using our logos that falls outside of these guidelines, send permission requests to Blanchard Marketing at 2014 The Ken Blanchard Companies.
