4 To participate in the SASSFA Nutrition Program at the Uptown Center, please note the following procedures: 1. Participants must submit a completed intake form. They are available at the Senior Center front desk. 2. RESERVATIONS FOR LUNCH MUST BE MADE 3-4 DAYS IN ADVANCE. 3. ON THE DAY OF YOUR RESERVATION CHECK IN AT THE DINING ROOM Between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. If you are not signed in by 11:00a.m., the Nutrition Site Coordinator will start making calls to people on the waiting list to come in for lunch. If you are unable to make it to lunch, please call the Nutrition Site Coordinator at (562) as soon as possible to cancel. 4. Suggested donation for lunch - $2.75 for seniors 60 years and older. 7 Walking Fact: Did you know that taking 10,000 steps a day is recommended for good health? The City Walkers/Hikers meet several mornings out of the month. It is a great opportunity to work out, get your heart rate up, and enjoy the company of friends. Newcomers are always welcome. Whittier Walking Group Tuesday Uptown Senior Walkers The group walks to local sites or uses public transportation. Walkers meet at the designated times and location listed below. Walks take place every Tuesday unless otherwise noted. Auditions will be held at the Uptown Senior Center on April 12th from 2-4pm Talent Show will be on May 24th at the Uptown Senior Center at 1:30p.m. Tickets are $5 Ticket sales begin on May 6th Family and Friends are welcome! Ticket includes: Admission and light refreshments Winners get prizes from local sponsors. FAQ: What counts as a talent? It can be anything from singing, dancing, comedic stand up, to even poetry. The talents are endless.
