4 Student Eligibility All students = Public, private and home education students Eligibility per s = Students must meet one of the following criteria: prior-year in Florida public school, siblings of virtual students enrolled in current and end of previous year, military dependents who recently moved to Florida, students eligible to enroll in grades K-1, students in grades 2-5 enrolling in full-time virtual programs.

5 District Virtual Instruction Program (VIP) Districts are required to offer one or three options and can choose from the following to offer VIPs: Offer a district-operated program Contract with Florida Virtual School (FLVS) Establish a franchise of FLVS Contract with an approved provider Enter into an agreement with another school district Enter into an agreement with a virtual charter school Contract with a Florida college

11 Florida Online Course Catalog Lists digital learning courses offered by district virtual schools, DOE approved providers, and Florida Virtual School. Two views Public view for general public to obtain information about grades K-12 online courses offered in Florida Administrative view for districts, providers and FLVS to enter and manage their online courses Almost 10,000 online courses entered the first year!

12 General Funding and Reporting Report in all appropriate surveys Funding is based on Successful Course Completion (passing courses or the prescribed level of content that counts toward promotion) Students only generate funding for successful course completions whether they are promoted or not Districts/FLVS receive estimated funding throughout the year Funding trued up at the end of the year after reporting of successful completions

16 Surveys 2 and 3 Submit same record formats as for students in other district schools and programs Report 0 FTE on student course records Report Class Minutes, Weekly even though the reported FTE is zero. Report all virtual students who are enrolled for more than 14 days.

17 Course Grade Data Element Added to the Student Course Record in Report IP (In Progress) or appropriate withdrawal code (WP or WF) in Surveys 2 and 3 Report actual course grade in Survey 4 This reporting is for all virtual schools state and district. The course status codes (IP, WP, and WF) are not official grades and should not be converted as such.

21 VIP Provider Data Verification Imperative to collaborate and share information with Provider to ensure accuracy of data for provider grades Verify data throughout school year (can use district reports) DOE EIAS for districts during Surveys 2 and 3 DOE will generate similar report for providers Involve providers in Accountability Matching process during Survey 3 Make sure student ID and provider codes are accurate Course numbers should match in Surveys 2, 3, and 4
