As per the Ontario Energy Board, Festival Hydro is pleased to offer the following options to landlords and property managers in regards to hydro service for all rental properties where tenants pay the electricity bill. As a property manager/landlord you have two options: OPTION # 1 Allow for continuous service, whereby you agree to automatically assume responsibility for paying for continued service after the closure of a tenant s account and before a new tenant moves in. This is covered under the Agreement for Continuing Service attached. If you choose this option Festival Hydro will not charge the account set up fee and you are asked to sign the Agreement (included with this letter) and return along with the list of properties to Festival Hydro. OPTION #2 Discontinue service between tenants, whereby the date a tenant requests a final meter reading from Festival Hydro, Festival Hydro will disconnect the service until such time a new tenant contacts our office to start the account in their name. Festival Hydro and its employees/agents will not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury that may result from the power being disconnected. Any reconnection must occur during regular business hours and Festival Hydro has up to 2 business days to complete the reconnection from the date requested. Under Option 2 it is critical for you to make sure your tenant contacts our office well in advance of their move in date to arrange for the set up and connection of their account. If you choose this agreement please sign and return the Agreement to Discontinue Service between Tenants attached. Page 1 of 2

(If you already have an agreement on file a new one isn t required) If a written response is not received in our office we will provide continuous service to the property, and you will be responsible for hydro used in between tenants. 3 AGREEMENT FOR CONTINUING SERVICE (OPTION #1) TERMS and CONDITIONS This Continuous Service Agreement reduces the risk of the power being disconnected when no one is on the account at one of your rental properties. When a tenant cancels an electricity service account with Festival hydro, the designated property management company or property owner is automatically signed up for service. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MANAGEMENT COMPANY OR PROPERTY OWNER to confirm with Festival Hydro, the tenant is vacating the premises. The designated management company or property owner will continue to be billed for the electricity service account until Festival Hydro is contacted by the new tenant. If a tenant is disconnected for non-payment, Festival Hydro s Continuous Service agreement will not apply. Customer Service Department can assist you with questions should the account be disconnected for non-payment. Our If the property is sold, you must notify Festival Hydro in writing to cancel the Agreement on file and include the list of addresses that must be cancelled from your agreement/program. 5 AGREEMENT TO DISCONNECT SERVICE BETWEEN TENANTS (OPTION #2) I am requesting that Festival Hydro disconnect the hydro service at the property(ies) listed below each time a tenant notifies Festival Hydro they are vacating the premises. The undersigned landlord/property manager, for properties listed below, agrees that Festival Hydro and its employees/agents will not be responsible or held liable for any damages or injuries which may result from termination of the hydro service as requested. The undersigned also acknowledges the reconnection will be performed during regular business hours and Festival Hydro has up to two business days to complete the reconnection from the date requested. Reconnection will not take place outside of regular business hours. New tenants must personally contact our office during regular business hours (8:30 4:30 Monday through Friday) to set up their account and arrange for the reconnection. Should Festival Hydro be notified a tenant is vacating the premises, the hydro service will be disconnected. Service will not be reconnected until 1) Tenant has called Festival Hydro to set up account 2) Connection will be scheduled for first available opportunity within two business days of tenant s request for reconnection of service.
