1 Baylor University/Baylor College of Medicine From : Baylor University and Baylor College of Medicine have entered into an agreement which grants at least four outstanding high school students provisional acceptance to Baylor College of Medicine upon matriculation to Baylor University. One of the four students selected will receive a scholarship valued at $80,000 covering $10,000 per year for four years of undergraduate study at Baylor University and four additional years of medical study at Baylor College of Medicine. This not a fast-track program; rather it is designed to afford very bright students the opportunity to broaden their educational horizons. Students able to complete Baylor University degree requirements and BCM requirements early are encouraged to study abroad and/or engage in a research project to complete their four year undergraduate commitment. Brooklyn College/SUNY-Downstate Medical Center The B.A.-M.D. Program is a combined undergraduate and medical degree program run jointly by Brooklyn College and SUNY Downstate Medical Center. In the first four years, at Brooklyn College, the students take the program's curriculum of pre-med science courses, and they also earn a bachelor's degree in the major of their choice. Students spend the next four years at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and earn their M.D. The B.A.-M.D. Program is geared to students in the New York area. Applicants should be high school seniors. 4 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI)/Albany Medical College (AMC) 7 Years From Admissions Website: The class entering Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in September 2006 was selected from a pool of 346 applicants. After careful review of applications at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Albany Medical College, 173 students were selected for further review and 85 were interviewed at the medical college. Female applicants accounted for 42% of this group. Academically, most applicants invited for an interview had combined critical reading, math, and writing SAT scores of 2134 or greater. More detailed examination of the group of exceptional and promising young men and women beginning their first year of studies at Rensselaer in September 2006 shows that their combined critical reading, math, and writing SAT scores averaged Of equal importance to their demonstrated academic ability is their distinctly superior level of maturity and motivation. Other Albany Medical College Programs Rice University / Baylor College of Medicine Guaranteed admission into medical school. The average SAT score for entering applicants 2100 and applicants establish a strong interest in pursuing medicine. MCAT not required. Siena/Albany Medical College From Admissions Website: An early assurance program between Siena College and Albany Medical College, the first of its kind in the country, places emphasis on humanities, ethics and social service. Students accepted into this program earn a B.A. degree from Siena after four years and an M.D. degree from Albany Medical College upon completion of the medical curriculum. Successful completion of all undergraduate degree requirements is necessary before matriculation into medical school. Other Albany Medical College Programs St. Louis University The Medical Scholars Program is an exclusive opportunity for freshman applicants who plan to eventually attend medical school. Students who are accepted into this highly selective program are placed on an early application track to Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Medical Scholars have the unique benefit of applying to the School of Medicine during the spring semester of their sophomore year - two years before traditional pre-med students in their class will know of their acceptance to medical school. Med Scholars are then notified of their admission decision before the start of their junior year. Although Medical Scholars are not guaranteed admission to medical school, the program does boast a 98% acceptance rate - meaning that Medical Scholars are almost always successful in obtaining admission to Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Medical Scholars must still sit for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) at the appropriate time, but their test score does not impact their admission to medical school through the program. 4

5 Temple University School of Medicine Scholars Program The Medical Scholars Program provides an opportunity for exceptionally qualified high school seniors to gain a provisional acceptance to the School of Medicine upon completion of their undergraduate degree. Temple University School of Medicine offers this combined degree with three undergraduate institutions in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania: Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, and Widener University in Chester. Although each undergraduate institution has a unique atmosphere and educational curriculum, the requirements of medical scholars candidates are similar. We are looking for students with a strong academic background, in the top 5% of their graduating class, who have completed a variety of AP coursework. Students should also demonstrate exceptional standardized test performance. The minimum SAT required is a 1350 in the combined verbal and math sections, with no individual section less than 600 (including the new writing section). The minimum ACT composite score required is 31. Students with demonstrated leadership and extensive community and health care experiences are encouraged to apply. Union College / Albany Medical College Guaranteed admission into medical school. MCAT not required. Applicants are required to complete and submit the scores for SAT I and two SAT II Subject Tests. The SAT IIs should include one science and one mathematics test. The ACT can replace the requirements for both the SAT I and SAT II. Testing requirements for the Leadership in Medicine Program are a combined 1950 or better on the SAT and a 650 or better on each of the SAT IIs. If a student chooses to submit the ACT, he or she must have a composite of 30 or better.
