(ET) - THE O2 (LONDON, ENGLAND) The Toronto Raptors travel overseas for an NBA Global Game in London, England. This is the third time the Raptors have ventured across the Atlantic Ocean 2011 NBA Games (London) and 2007 NBA Europe Live (Rome/ Madrid). Toronto has played five total games in Europe and is designated as the road team for Thursday s game. Toronto s last visit to The O2 arena in 2011 marked the first time regular-season NBA games were played in Europe. The Raptors and New Jersey Nets (now Brooklyn Nets) played back-to-back games, including a tripleovertime contest Mar. 5, The game set a Raptors team record for most points scored 273, which was later matched Nov. 12, 2012 in a triple-overtime game vs. Utah. DeMar DeRozan recorded back-to-back 30 point games for the first time in his career Mar. 4-5, 2011 the last time Toronto visited London s O2 arena. DeRozan has gone on to accomplished this six times during his seven-year career with Toronto, most recently Dec , He is averaging 30.0 points while shooting.488 (25-for-45) from the field and a perfect (13-for-13) at the free throw line during two games in London. Toronto leads the NBA this season with six international players on its roster - Anthony Bennett (Canada), Bruno Caboclo (Brazil), Cory Joseph (Canada), Lucas Nogueira (Brazil), Luis Scola (Argentina) and Jonas Valanciunas (Lithuania). London also marks the sixth neutral site city the Raptors have visited this year - Vancouver (British Columbia), San Jose (California), Ontario (California), Ottawa (Ontario) and Montreal (Quebec). Luis Scola participated at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, averaging 18.0 points in eight games for Argentina. Scola ranked fifth in tournament scoring behind Patty Mills (21.2), Kevin Durant (19.5), Manu Ginobili (19.4) and Pau Gasol (19.1). Jonas Valanciunas made his Olympic debut during the same tournament as a 20 year-old. He finished totaling 25 points and 24 rebounds in six games for Lithuania. Toronto will host the first NBA All-Star Weekend held outside of the United State next month (Feb ). The 65 th NBA All-Star Game will be broadcasted to a worldwide audience in 215 countries and territories in 40 different languages Feb. 14. DeMar DeRozan (2014) and Kyle Lowry (2015) are Toronto s most recent All-Stars. DeMar DeRozan needs eight points to become the third player in team history to average 22.5 points through the first 40 games of a season. DeRozan has participated in all 39 games this year, compiling a career-best 892 points. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan are the first starting backcourt record at least 18 points and six rebounds in consecutive games since Atlanta's Bob Sura and Jason Terry in Lowry had a team-high 25 points and six rebounds Jan. 9 at Philadelphia, while DeRozan added 19 points and seven boards. On Jan. 8 at Washington, Lowry recorded 21 points and 10 rebounds, while DeRozan had 35 points and eight boards. Lowry and DeRozan are one of three pairs in the NBA this season averaging 20+ points. Toronto has won 17 straight games when holding opponents to less than 100 points. It is the second-longest streak in team history and the longest since team-record of 27 games from March 2009 to March The Raptors are 22-3 overall this season when holding opponents below the century mark and a perfect 10-0 when opponents shoot under 40 per cent from the field. Toronto currently rank fourth in the NBA limiting opponents to 96.7 points and eighth in opponent field goal percentage (.435) through Jan. 9. The Raptors improved to 13-9 on the road with a victory Jan. 9 at Philadelphia, setting a franchise-high for road wins before the halfway point of a season. Casey, 58, has served as a head coach, associate head coach and assistant coach in the NBA 20 of the past 21 years. He has coached in two NBA Finals (1996 and 2011) and two NBA All-Star Games (1996 and 1998). Under Casey s leadership the Raptors have won back-to-back Atlantic Division championships and improved their regular season win total in each of his four seasons a first in team history. He enters the campaign four wins shy of the top spot in franchise history and 34 games from being the longest tenured coach of the Raptors. Last season, Casey directed the Raptors to a second consecutive Atlantic Division championship and set a team record with 49 victories. His club had sole possession of first place in the Eastern Conference for the first time in team history and remained there from November 4 January 1. The defensive-minded Casey showcased an up-tempo offence that set a franchise best with 726 made three-pointers and was the second-highest scoring unit in team history. They also finished in the Top-10 in the League for fewest turnovers for a third straight season. In , the Raptors recorded 48 wins, an Atlantic Division championship and the third overall seed in the Eastern Conference.
