1 APPLYING FOR ADMISSION TO THE UCT ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS PROJECT MANAGEMENT Delivered online

Asterisks next to each section in the application indicate the required fields that need to be filled out. The non-refundable application fee is R100. Click here to be directed to the UCT applications page, then follow the steps outlined below: Select 2016 from the dropdown menu. If you are a first time visitor, you will need to create a new account. Once you have signed in/created an account, you will need to complete nine steps. These steps have been detailed below. STEP 1: PERSONAL DETAILS Ensure you have included all your personal details. It s essential that you have ticked all three of the first questions. STEP 2: PROGRAMME OF STUDY Ensure you have answered the questions: Do you have a diploma or a university degree, or will you graduate by the end of 2015? Note: Although this is not an undergraduate degree, but rather an Advanced Diploma, the NQF level mirrors that of an undergraduate degree. To choose the UCT Advanced Diploma in Business Project Management you will need to select the following: Level qualification: Undergraduate Degree Faculty: Commerce Academic qualification: Advanced Diploma in Business Project Management Specialisation: Business Project Management (this will automatically default to Business Project Management) Note: Choosing a second programme preference is not required you may leave this section blank. In the same section you will need to upload all the relevant documentation. If you do not possess a relevant degree or diploma, you will need to upload your CV together with a letter of motivation (for more information about the letter of motivation you can contact uctinfo@getsmarter.co.za). You will need to upload the following documents: - Your CV - Your most recent transcript from previous tertiary studies - Motivational letter Page 2 of 5

3 STEP 3: CONTACT DETAILS Please ensure you have filled out all relevant details in this section. Examples have been provided. STEP 4: SECONDARY SCHOOL DETAIL & NBT Ensure you have answered every question in this section. You will need to include the name of the school you attended and the year you wrote your final exam. You will be required to fill in a NBT number and a date but you are not required to take the test. Please use this NBT number: Test date: 6/12/2015 STEP 5: POST-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES Ensure you have answered the question: Have you attended a tertiary institution since leaving school? To ensure that this section is not left incomplete, you will need to provide details of your activities since leaving school, and in which years these activities took place. STEP 6: TERTIARY EDUCATION DETAILS Ensure you have answered the question: Do you have a diploma or a university or will you graduate by the end of the 2015? Please ensure that you have indicated the year, the name of the tertiary institution you attended or are attending, the level of your qualification, and the current status of this endeavour. 4 STEP 7: HOUSING APPLICATION This does not apply to this programme as it is offered online, in blended learning mode. You will still need to answer no to the question: Do you wish to be considered for student housing in STEP 8: FUNDING Because the academic programme for which you are applying does not qualify for funding assistance, you won t be required to enter any details here. STEP 9: PARENT/GUARDIAN DETAILS Ensure you have filled out all the required fields. Asterisks next to each section indicate the required fields. STEP 10: CLICK SUBMIT APPLICATION You are required to have 9 green ticks to submit your application. If this isn t the case, please click on Identify Missing Information on the right hand side of the application. Refer to the example below: Page 4 of 5

5 STEP 11: COURIER OR HAND-DELIVER YOUR DOCUMENTS To prevent fraudulent applications, before you can receive a Firm Offer from the University, the UCT Admissions Office requires you to send the following hard copies of your documents: 1) Certified copy of academic transcripts stating proof of graduation (required) 2) Certified copy of Degree/Qualification Certificate (only required if transcripts do not state proof of graduation) To avoid postal service delays, please courier or hand-deliver the above documents to GetSmarter s office located at the address below, as soon as possible: The Registrars Office c/o Matthew Jack GetSmarter 2nd Floor Deneb House 368 c/o Browning and Main Road Observatory Cape Town 7925 South Africa All documents received will be forwarded onto the UCT Admissions Office for verification.
