1 INNOVATION HUBS CO-CREATION WORKSHOP 6-9 October 2014 Gran Concepción, Chile

2 WELCOME This workshop is designed to imagine, discover, co-create and define an innovation hub in Concepción, Chile. By its end, we will have articulated a shared vision of this hub - from its linkages with community stakeholders to potential business plans - as well as a concrete actions for making this innovation hub a reality. The workshop will bring together international thought leaders to share their experiences and foster the generation of knowledge on collaborative approaches in ICT-enabled urban service innovations The workshop will be driven by its participants, guided by world-class facilitators and speakers, and informed by the experiences of leading institutions on the frontiers of creative, design-driven, collaborative and effective innovation ecosystems. OBJECTIVES The workshop has 3 objectives: Co-create and define the local innovation hub with all stakeholders Determine the composition, role and function of the innovation hub s advisory board Brainstorm the 1st year of innovation hub activities CHALLENGE Create an innovation hub concept that creates real and tangible value by enabling meaningful inovations. This means that the hub will have to create simultaneous value for its users and clients, the organization itself, the local innovation ecosystem and society at large. WHAT IS AN INNOVATION HUB? Local innovation hubs are spaces and sets of activities for the facilitation, coordination, generation, development and sustaining of local innovation ecosystems. Many of these hubs comprise complementary activities and functions such as co-working spaces, maker spaces, Fab Labs, living labs and urban living labs. Additional goals of an innovation hub may include initiating, developing and implementing activities to stimulate innovation and coordination of actors and factors within the local ecosystem.
