5 DAVE GANG (M 72) Pathology I have no regrets about my career and life choices and don't plan to retire any time soon. Following Georgetown I did a Medical Internship at St. E's in Brighton followed by a residency in anatomic pathology at Tufts Medical Center. I had a marvelous opportunity to finish up a fellowship at MGH and ended up in the Pathology Department there for over 9 years. I was the pathologist of record on 39 NEJM CPC's. I left in 1985 to join the faculty at UMASS Worcester where I stayed until I have been at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield since July of 1991 where I am chief of Anatomic Pathology at a Professor of Pathology at Tufts School of Medicine (Baystate is the Western Campus). I am involved in teaching both at the medical school in Boston and in our free-standing residency program with 16 pathology residents. I am board certified in anatomic pathology with subspecialty boards in pediatric pathology. I live in Longmeadow MA, a suburb of Springfield, with my wife of 26 years, Roberta Hillenberg-Gang. We have three boys, Jon, Nick, and Alex, ages 34 (first marriage), 24, and 23, none of whom have chosen to enter the minefield of medicine. No one is married yet and we have no grandchildren. Roberta is a graphic designer and extremely tech savvy and keeps me up to date. Nick is a recent Tufts graduate who as a terrific jazz baritone sax player got into music engineering and now works for Kurzweil in Waltham as a digital signal process engineer. Jon, a creative writer, went to Colorado College and stayed out there to work in Durango and Boulder in public relations. Our oldest Alex, with two degrees in creative writing, is a manager at Boston's friendliest restaurant, Bistro du Midi, on the Garden next to the Four Seasons (please go and ask for Alex). I love my job at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield where I specialize in GI and pediatric pathology. Retirement is hot an option at the moment and I plan to work as long as I can. I do lots of other things both inside and outside of medicine. I collect (and rarely sell) antique toys, play tennis and paddle tennis, ride a road bike, hike, kayak, serve on the board of the Springfield Symphony, serve on national committees of the College of American Pathologists, interview local HS applicants and serve as class newsletter editor for Dartmouth '68, and collect fine wine. Life is good and I have been blessed with good health and a stimulating career. P.S. Mike Dillon joined Gyn oncology at Baystate last year. I see him frequently. He's doing great. P.P.S. I was out in California last week and had my own personal reunion with Rich and Ann Greenspun. 5

12 LOUISE LIANG (M 72) Pediatrics/Administrative Medicine NW Montreux Drive, Issaquah, WA Years Have Passed Since my goal was to practice pediatrics, I chose Georgetown because of its reputation for excellent clinical training. But that is not the pathway I eventually took and Georgetown and residency training in Boston never prepared me for the administrative jobs that I have had. I have spent my career primarily in executive management - Henry Ford Hospital, Federal Government, Harvard Community Health Plan, Straub Clinic and Hospital, Group Health Cooperative of Puget Sound, and Kaiser Permanente, corporate office. I met my husband, Richard Stiles, urologist and executive, in Boston during residency and we have two wonderful children, Margot (marine scientist, aged 35) and Ethan (operational manager at Starbucks headquarters, aged 32). We have lived in Detroit, Norfolk, VA, Washington, DC, Boston, Honolulu, Seattle, and Oakland, CA. Over the years, I became very involved with quality improvement in healthcare, serving on several boards and national committees, as well as speaking, consulting, and writing on the topic. At Kaiser Permanente I wrote a book describing the work I led implementing their national electronic health record and improving patient care. I spoke at many national and international meetings about our experience and have had the pleasure of learning about healthcare in many organizations and countries. I retired a year ago and am enjoying golf, hiking, photography, and travel. We live in Seattle and are blessed with an energetic one year old grandson nearby who keeps us young.or at least tired! I am sorry to miss the reunion and look forward to reading about many of you! ~Louise 12

Just like we learned in Med School. 14

15 PAMELA MEYER ZUCKERMAN (M 72) Pediatrics 16 Greenwich Park, Boston, MA (c) Wow the forty years has gone by both slowly and fast but I have had a lucky, satisfying, productive and happy professional and personal life. Barry Zuckerman and I matched to go to Boston together for internship at Boston City Hospital in 1972 and we married at the end of internship year. So for us also almost 40 years too! We have two great kids, now 37 and 35. Our son develops buildings in Brooklyn and surfs all over the world. Our daughter is a new NP and has started to work in my office with me which is a real joy. Not married, and no grandkids yet for us. Boohoo. Barry has written about himself separately, but I am extraordinarily proud of him and his far sighted and enormous accomplishments in his career and his noble heart. Who would have thought!? I have worked as a pediatrician since graduation and training, first 12 years in a pediatric hospital with programs for disabled children doing output/ed/inpatient care. The next 13 years I was in a big private practice in Brookline MA, then spent a year at Children s Hospital Boston on the coordinated care service and in the myelodysplasia program. In 2001 I went back into practice in a smaller setting in Brookline where I continue to see Well children from birth to 21 and a small percentage of children with developmental disabilities and ADD, ASD, behavior problems. I'm not ready to retire but some of my days are way too long and I'm way too tired! I have loved taking care of children. They are fresh, funny and will tell you the truth. And getting to care for them and their parents over many years has been wonderfully enlarging and fulfilling. I'm proud to have gone to Georgetown. The clinical skills we learned have been a sound underpinning and I have passed them along to students and house staff along the way. In addition to raising our kids, I have had a lot of fun pursuing other interests. I am a serious oil painter, figurative/portraits for last 25 years. I take ballet and yoga classes since after my kids were born. We got certified as scuba divers about 12 years ago and I like to go out west a couple times a year to ride horses. Barry and I have done some fantastic travel over the years, often courtesy of his teaching invitations. We have had the best times also combining trips for fun with medical sight visits for teaching and giving care in Africa, South America, Bangladesh. We always bring books for the children! (That's one of Barry's great programs). I'm really looking forward to the reunion. Hope I can still recognize everyone. We were a hairy group of youngsters back in those days ( I was looking thru the yearbook!) 15
