1 Video Conference Details Below are the details of your videoconference with participants at The University of Queensland. Date Time URL For assistance please call Video Conferencing with UQ The University of Queensland (UQ) uses Jabber Guest when communicating with external parties via video conferencing. Jabber Guest is a web based video conferencing tool that requires participants to use Firefox or Chrome as the web browser. You can download these browsers if you do not have them installed. 2 First- time user set- up for Jabber Guest Windows Users When you first use Jabber Guest you will need to ensure the add- on is trusted on your computer. When you first visit the URL for your videoconference you will need to select I Understand the Risks. Page 2

3 Next, click on Add Exception. Then, click on Confirm Security Exception. Page 3

4 Jabber Guest will then request access to your webcam. Click Always Allow or Allow. To ensure that you and your participants can hear and see each other we need to check our settings. Select the setting button in the lower left corner represented as a small cog. Page 4

6 In the example below, the external participant is using a Tandberg Video Conferencing system. You may be using a similar system or a computer so your settings may be slightly different. Set the following settings: Audio playback to your headphone, computer speakers or video conferencing speakers so you can hear what other participants are saying Audio capture should be your inbuilt microphone of your headset, computer or video conferencing equipment. Video should be set to you web camera or video conferencing system camera. When you are ready click Call to join the video conference. Page 6

7 First- time user set- up for Jabber Guest Mac Users When you first use Jabber Guest you will need to download and install the plugin and ensure it is trusted on your computer. Click Download to download and install the plugin. When the download has finished, open the finder window and double click the file to install. Page 7

8 You may be asked if you wish to install a file downloaded from the Internet. Select Open. Your browser will then display the CSICO Jabber window as shown below. Click on the Plug- in blocked for this website to enable to client to connect. Page 8
