7 Our Approach ALLIANCES: research institutions (INVEMAR), city authorities, Chamber of Commerce and other interest groups INSTITUTIONAL BUY-IN: among civil servants CORPORATIONS BUY-IN: show that climate compatible development boost their long term competitiveness Phase One: Integration of climate change adaptation into regional planning and management in Cartagena: Analysis of vulnerability and adaptation guidelines Phase Two: Integrate planning for adaption to climate change as the municipal level in Cartagena; Contribute to climate change adaptation in coastal, tropical cities; Produce the first plan for adaptation to climate change in a coastal, Colombian city.
