Stefano Baila, TERUMO BCT We describe good manufacturing practices-compliant procedures for the production of ATMPs using the Quantum Cell Expansion System. The Quantum system is closed and automated medical device that has been successfully implemented in different manufacturing processes, form preclinical to clinical phases. Presented cases will address challenges and opportunities for cell and gene therapies manufacturing in the context of a closed and automated system. Additionally we will present how the system allows large-scale expansion of ATMPs while maintaining the critical quality attributes of interest.

Walter Kohler, Cell Therapy Technologies T cell therapies are a rapidly growing field of person medicine, but the large numbers of cells required present a logistical and technical challenge. Growing T cell in a XuriTM cell expansion system offers the benefits of being a closed, single-use and automated system in which high cell densities can be reached. Monitoring cell growth requires a sample to be taken from the culture, which briefly compromises the closed environment and risks the sterility of the culture. We show here how dissolved oxygen concentration acts as a surrogate readout for cell growth. Multi-omic transcriptomics & proteomics analysis. Danielle Fletcher, Agilent Technologies. During the workshop Danielle Fletcher will present unique features of Agilent s GeneSpring software that allow the combined analysis of transcriptomics and proteomics data. Participants will work on exemplary dataset and will conduct the complete workflow to obtain an integrated view on certain biological process.
