1 JOB SCRPTON Post Salary Hours Contract epartment Location Reporting to Responsible for T Support Manager Harmonised Point 34, 32,778 per annum 37 hours per week, all year round, with the flexibility to work some evenings and weekends Permanent T Support rift Road Campus irector of T & Resources Network Administrator, T Technicians Overall Purpose To support the irector of T in the co-ordination of the day to day function of the T Support Team in accordance with the department s Key Performance ndicators. To lead, develop and manage the T Technicians with a focus on customer service and continual service improvement. To play a key role in the harmonisation of key CT systems across all College sites. The T Support Manager will work in conjunction with the irector of T & Resources to support the design, development and maintenance of all in-house T systems. The post holder will assist the curriculum in the development of electronic curriculum delivery and e-learning and share the College s vision. Key Tasks: T Support To lead, direct and manage the day to day activities of the T Support Team in the support of the College s corporate objectives and aspiration to be exceptional. To maintain a shift pattern within the team that supports the entire College, whilst keeping the team motivated and operating at peak efficiency. To deputise for the irector of T & Resources when absent, in relation to T. To manage and hold responsibility for the first and second line support of College computers, including PCs, Apple Mac computers, laptops and printers, ensuring maximum performance and reliability is obtained. To support the irector of T & Resources in the delivery of exceptional customer service, ensuring all incidents and T requests are recorded and resolved in line with the department s Key Performance ndicators. To adhere to and promote the escalation procedures and assist with technical escalations for other team members, including those T requests escalated to the Network Administrator. To work alongside the Network Administrator ensuring support and maintenance contracts are in place for all business critical hardware and software. To ensure that all contracts are managed and maintained via the T Helpdesk system, all data and supporting documentation is recorded and notifications are delivered in advance to the irector of T & Resources when renewals are due.

2 To provide daily, weekly and monthly performance reports to the irector of T & Resources and be accountable for any non-compliancy with the departmental Key Performance ndicators. To assist with College office moves and room changes, ensuring relevant asset systems are updated. To ensure all equipment is moved, carried and stored correctly in compliance with current College policies. To be responsible for operational security, maintenance, asset tagging and disposal of the College s desktop and printer resources. To use all available tools and systems to schedule work and ensure effective customer communication. To manage and develop relationships with other businesses/managers supported by the College T Support Team to ensure the delivery of a seamless T Support Service. Key Tasks: Systems evelopment To promote and support the College s vision of an embedded e-learning environment and provide day to day technical support for staff using the College s VL Moodle and other learning technologies. To act in conjunction with the irector of T & Resources in the provision of training and coaching of staff on the VL and other learning technologies, supporting the uptake of the online systems. To support and advise in the deployment of software to interface with any College systems. This will involve research and working with outside agencies identified in the sector and entered into by the College and to continue to support and develop any existing in-house systems that have been created to meet a certain need, ncluding but not exclusively the online application portal, online payment portal. To work closely with the irector of T & Resources and the MS Systems eveloper to enhance the end user experience of all T systems. Human Resource Management Be a pro-active team leader and an excellent, inspiring role model for the T Support Team and Network Administrator. Manage and be accountable for all elements of the performance of staff within the area who support the process of T support for staff and students. Take prompt and decisive action if a member of staff within your area is under-performing, in line with the College s HR and Quality procedures. Corporate Responsibilities The postholder will be required to encompass the use of nformation and Learning Technology (LT) as appropriate to his/her level of responsibility. Assist with College enrolment/open evenings as required (which will entail occasional attendance outside normal College hours for which time off in lieu will be agreed). Comply with, and implement as appropriate, all College policies and procedures with particular reference to qual Opportunities, Safeguarding, Quality and Health and Safety. Commit to and uphold, the College s nvironmental Policies and aspirations for sustainable learning provision. Undertake continuing professional development as appropriate. Take a full part in the College staff development programme including the appraisal process. 2

3 Undertake such other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably required by your line manager within the level and grading of the post, working flexibly across other areas of the department/division and College as required. The College operates a NO SMOKNG policy. Terms and Conditions Holiday Holiday entitlement of 25 days per annum. n addition, you are entitled to 8 Bank/statutory holidays and 3 concessionary days to be taken on specified days over the Christmas/New Year period to coincide with the closure of the College. Pension Probation isclosure: The post holder will be eligible to join the Local Government Pension Scheme. New appointees to the College are subject to a 6 months' probationary period.
