3 SPEAKERS: Joe Milstone Cognition LLP Joe is a co-founder of Cognition and specializes in commercial agreements, particularly in the technology, telecommunications, professional services and sports and entertainment sectors. Joe also has experience in regulatory and compliance matters in financial services, telecommunications and gaming. Gil Zvulony Zvulony & Co. Gil Zvulony is the founder and director of Zvulony & Company P.C. Mr. Zvulony is a well-known Toronto litigation lawyer. He regularly represents and advises businesses and individuals in internet, defamation, copyright, debt collection, and international law matters. Some of Gil s notable work includes, winning a precedent setting judgment of over $200 Million and having a multi-million dollar defamation suit tossed-out of court on technical grounds. Joshua Lenon Director of Communications & Outreach at Clio Joshua Lenon is an attorney admitted to the New York Bar. He obtained his J.D. and a Certificate in International and Comparative Law from St. Louis University School of Law. Joshua has worked for Thomson Reuters' publishing departments in both the U.S. and Canada. Joshua currently serves as Director of Communications for Clio, providing legal scholarship and marketing skills to the leading cloud-based practice management system. Howard Borlack McCague Borlack LLP A founding partner of McCague Borlack LLP, Howard has been lead counsel on many of its most significant cases. Howard is best known for his ability to handle all types of complex civil litigation. He has appeared before all levels of courts including the Supreme Court of Canada and has also represented our clients before many tribunals. Ginevra Saylor Dentons, National Director of Knowledge Management As National Director of Knowledge Management, Ginevra develops the firm s knowledge management strategy and initiatives and leads the KM Lawyers, Business Intelligence, Library and Intranet teams. She designs new projects and practice tools to leverage and build the firm s knowledge base. Her role also includes helping the firm develop and maintain standards, advance and assure quality, and evaluate and integrate new practice support technology. Donald Johnston Aird Berlis Donald B. Johnston is Co-leader of the Technology Team, as well as a member of the Corporate/Commercial, Technology & Communications and Mining Groups. Don is a well-known technology lawyer with broad experience as a corporate and commercial lawyer. He also has a wealth of experience in health law, health informatics, information technology, health care privacy law, biotech and pharmaceuticals law, technology financing, telecommunications, procurement and outsourcing.

4 SPEAKERS: Peter Carayiannis Conduit Law Peter Carayiannis is the President and Founder of Conduit Law Professional Corporation. Peter practiced law for several years at one of Canada s largest national law firms where he quickly gained corporate-commercial legal experience across multiple industries and specific expertise in corporate finance and energy law. Peter is a member in good standing of State Bar of Michigan and the Law Society of Upper Canada. Justin Vessair McCotter Law Justin received a B.A. (Honours) in English Literature from Queen s University before earning his J.D. from the University of Western Ontario. He was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2012 after completing his articles at McMillan LLP in Toronto. Justin is developing a practice focussed on licensing, commercial contracting, intellectual property and technology matters in areas such as broadcasting, digital media and software development. Stefan A. De Smit Hodder Barristers Mr. De Smit completed his legal training in England by obtaining a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in English & European Law from Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) in 2006, obtaining a European Law degree from Utrecht University (UU) in 2005 with First Class Honours as part of the Erasmus Programme. He was called to the Bar of England & Wales in 2007 and completed a Master of Laws (LLM) with Distinction in International Commercial Law from University College London (UCL) in Bram Abramson McCarthy Tétrault Bram Abramson practices communications law with McCarthy Tétrault, providing commercial, regulatory, and transactional advice focused on the telecommunications, media, and technology sectors. Before becoming a lawyer he worked as an telecommunications industry analyst in Washington DC, at a private firm, and at the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission in Gatineau. Trudy Goldenberg McCarthy Tétrault In her role at McCarthy Tétrault, Ms. Goldenberg drives all types of business communications, integrates social media into the firm s public relations and marketing efforts, and stays current on the trends and best practices in these areas. Ms. Goldenberg has more than a decade of experience in business development and marketing in the legal industry. Martin Halpern Knowledge Management Lawyer Martin Halpern is a Knowledge Management lawyer and pioneer in the field. He worked for many years at one of Canada's largest law firms, McCarthy Tetrault. He was a principal architect of "Robinette", the firm s KM system. This system won Best Collaborative Tool Canadian e-content Awards. He also has expertise in intranet development and internal communications.

However, for lawyers, this can only be properly done while remaining aware of concerns such as the persistence of past comments, the need to ensure the accuracy of commentary, and the importance of not bringing the profession into disrepute inadvertently or otherwise.
