6 Provider Network and Service Area At Coventry, we contract directly with our provider network, which enables us to negotiate significant discounts. We work as a team with our providers to coordinate care, and take pride in our network of more than 550,000 physicians and over 5,600 hospitals throughout the United States. In Florida, Coventry s network of providers continues to grow. This means more choices when it comes to local physicians and hospitals. Our Open Access HMO, Open Access POS and PPO products provide an extensive network of hospitals and physicians through-out the state. In addition, small goup employers with employees who reside outside of Florida may provide PPO options that allow access to the Coventry National Network (CNN) and all large group PPO options provide access to CNN outside Florida. Open Access HMO and Open Access POS products are offered to employers in the HMO service area. PPO products are offered in the PPO core area. HMO and POS members may enroll eligible dependants in the Coventry Student Passport Program. The Coventry Passport Program provides access to the CNN outside the HMO service area.
