Alger Vice President, HP Business Technology Solutions and Services Rob Alger oversees the Health Plan PMO and Health Plan Capability, to link portfolio management, portfolio reporting and capability with IT strategic planning work. Alger is responsible for KP's 5010/D.0 and ICD 10 development for the Health Plan as well as KP's approach to administrative simplification under Health Care Reform. Liora Alschuler CEO, Lantana Consulting Group Liora is the CEO of Lantana Consulting Group. Lantana specializes in standards based health information capture, exchange, and management working with commercial and government clients. In 1997 Liora led the project that established the principles for the first XML based exchange specification for healthcare, the HL7 Clinical Document Architecture (CDA), a standard used world wide for continuity of care and reuse of electronic information. She is a co founder of the Health Story Project which promotes standards based solutions for the exchange of the full patient record. William (Bill) Bartzak President, CEO & Founder, MDOL William (Bill) Bartzak is the president, CEO, and founder of MD On Line, Inc. (MDOL), a provider of innovative technology solutions that power the ability of physicians and healthcare professionals to address today's practice and patient needs and easily adapt to tomorrow's healthcare challenges. Founded in 1995, MDOL is one of the fastest growing healthcare technology companies nationwide, and was awarded the honor of NJBIZ 2011 Business of the Year. A veteran entrepreneur whose vision led to the development and continual innovation of MDOL, Bill is a frequent speaker at healthcare and medical technology industry conferences, and authored the "Inside the Minds: CEO's Best Practices Skills, Values & Strategies for Successful CEOs" series of books for C level executives. 2 Rhonda Buckholtz, CPC, CPMA, CPC I, CENTC, CGSC, COBGC, CPEDC AAPC Vice President of ICD 10 Education and Training Rhonda Buckholtz has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, working in the reimbursement, billing, and coding sectors, in addition to being an instructor. She is responsible for all ICD 10 training and curriculum at AAPC. She has authored many articles for health care publications and has spoken at conferences across the country. She is co chair for the WEDI ICD 10 Implementation Workgroup and has provided testimony ongoing for ICD 10 and standardization of data for NCVHS. She also sits on the Provider Outreach and Education committee for Novitas Solutions (formerly Highmark Medicare Services). Julia Chan Julia Chan has served as a healthcare consultant for a variety of organizations that include Kaiser Permanente, HealthCentral.com, and the University of California, San Francisco. Projects have focused on systems integration initiatives involving data warehouses and business intelligence. Publications of her work can be found in the Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy and the Archives of Internal Medicine. She currently leads The Healthcare Interchange, which is a startup portal designed to connect the community to healthcare information, products and services. Laurie Darst Revenue Cycle Regulatory Advisor Laurie Darst serves as a HIPAA/Revenue Cycle consultant to Mayo Clinic s three large group practices in Rochester, MN, Scottsdale, AZ and Jacksonville, FL and to the Mayo Health System sites which encompass 62 communities in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. Her primary focus includes HIPAA regulations, administrative simplification opportunities, and industry trends impacting Mayo s revenue cycle. Laurie stays abreast of these initiatives by actively participating in a number of state and national standard setting organizations including: ANSI X12N, National Uniform Claim Committee (NUCC), National Uniform Billing Committee (NUBC), Health Level Seven (HL7) Attachment Special Interest Group, MN Administrative Uniformity Committee (AUC), and the FL Provider Collaborative. She is actively involved in numerous WEDI initiatives, including the WEDI Education Committee and is currently serving on the WEDI Board of Directors. Kamahanahokulani Farrar Office of ehealth Standards and Services (OESS) Kamahanahokulani Farrar joined the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in Ms. Farrar works with the Office of ehealth Standards and Services (OESS) as part of the Integrated Services Team focused on Integrated Communications, Consumer Engagement and Health Disparities. OESS coordinates and supports the Agency s internal and external activities related to e health services, and helps build collaboration among all components.

3 Shiv Gaglani Editor, Medgadget Shiv Gaglani is an MD/MBA candidate at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Harvard Business School. In addition to serving as an editor of Medgadget and founding the Smartphone Physical ( he also contributes regularly to CardioSource World News and Emergency Physicians Monthly. He is interested in developing scalable, tech based solutions for medicine and education; to this end he is the co founder of the medical education tech start up, Osmosis ( Betty Gomez Vice President, Regulatory Strategy Betty Gomez, Vice President Regulatory Strategy at ZirMed, brings more than 23 years of healthcare industry experience to her leadership of the company s regulatory strategy efforts, in which she presently focuses on ICD 10 readiness initiatives, solutions, and helping clients prepare for the new code set. A recognized expert in the field of healthcare claims and EDI transactions, Ms. Gomez actively serves as an industry representative in WEDI workgroups, X12N, and the Cooperative Exchange. She is also the cochair of the ASC X12 provider information work group. Prior to joining ZirMed, Ms. Gomez led various implementations and support teams at leading healthcare IT companies, including Claredi, WebMD and Envoy Corporation. She has a Degree in Systems Administration from the Politecnico Gran Colombiano in Bogota, Colombia. Mike Hoaglin Clinical Scholar in Residence, Practice Fusion Mike Hoaglin is Clinical Scholar in Residence at Practice Fusion, which provides free electronic health records (EHR) to doctors and their practices. Mike is an MD Candidate at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and a former ONC Policy Analyst specializing in the meaningful use of health IT. As an advocate for patient centered care and engagement, he took time off in medical school to work in the medical unit for The Dr. Oz Show. Mike is also cofounder of the mhealth Startup, The Smartphone Physical, which is the first largescale demonstration of a smartphone driven physical exam aiming to transform the ecosystem of health data exchange. Jessica Holmes Sales Operations, ADP AdvancedMD Jessica Holmes manages Sales Operations at ADP AdvancedMD. Jessica is primarily responsible for providing training, tools and resources for the ADP AdvancedMD sales teams. ADP AdvancedMD, based in the Salt Lake City, Utah, is part of a globallytrusted company with nearly $9B in revenues and approximately 550,000 clients, including more than 45,000 physicians. Prior to joining ADP AdvancedMD in 2012, Jessica spent ten years in healthcare sales and sales management roles in the Practice Management and Electronic Health Record market. She received her BBA from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, UT.

4 Crystal Kallem, RHIA, CPHQ Lantana Crystal is a leader in health information and quality management. She is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) with the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ). At Lantana, Crystal supports multiple Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) contracts. She is senior standards advisor of a CMS initiative to evaluate and recommend tools and processes for measuring national healthcare quality. The project established national standards for expressing quality of care measures for direct reporting to CMS from electronic health record (EHR) systems. Crystal serves as senior advisor to a CMS initiative to develop and maintain emeasures for Meaningful Use. She also leads strategic initiatives for Lantana s Policy Center of Excellence and provides leadership for client projects and analysis functions. Sherri T. Loeb, RN, BSN Sherri Loeb has been a health care professional for 33 years, having functioned for many years as a staff nurse at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and NorthShore University HealthSystem on adult cardiac and general surgical care floors, cardiac electrophysiologic intensive care units and general intensive care units. In 2010, Sherri was recruited to develop a new Clinical Research Center at NorthShore University HealthSystem. In this role, she was responsible for a two bed outpatient unit used by physician investigators. She recently served as the keynote presenter at a conference for Hennepin County Medical Center and gave the closing talk at the 2013 Joint Commission Ambulatory Care Conference. Additionally, she is a member of the Patient and Family Advisory Council for Quality and Safety for MedStar in Baltimore, MD. Chris McCrary Senior Manager, ACO Partnerships, Practice Fusion, Inc. Chris McCrary is Senior Manager of ACO Partnerships at Practice Fusion, where he drives product improvements and technical implementation to support accountable care and Payer functionality for users and organizations. Previously he worked at Hill Physicians Medical Group where he was responsible for all aspects of contract management including health plan negotiations, network development, ACO development and oversight, including the nationally recognized Cal Pers/Blue Shield/Dignity Health ACO in Sacramento. Mr. McCrary has over 17 years of experience working for large national payers, hospitals and provider organizations. Bill Patten Divisional Vice President of Professional Network Management, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois Bill Patten is the Divisional Vice President of Professional Network Management at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL). He joined BCBSIL in Prior to that, he worked for twenty years in a variety of contracting, network development and management roles including 10 years as VP Business Development with SNI Management, an MSO responsible for managing Chicago area IPAs and Medical

5 Groups. At BCBSIL Mr. Patten is responsible for Value Based Care contracting and implementation, including Medical Homes and ACOs. He has a BA degree from the University of Arizona, Tucson. Kevin Peterson, CISSP Senior Manager, Information Security and Risk Management, McKesson Kevin Peterson is an industry leading speaker, co author of the definitive book on SSL VPN technology Juniper Networks Secure Access SSL VPN Configuration Guide, 5 year Silicon Valley insider as a senior product manager for the award winning remote access security product line, inventor with 2 technology patents pending, noted blogger, solution selling expert, leader in globally recognized product security solutions, and now Sr. Manager and IT Risk Leader for McKesson s Enterprise Information Solution portfolio of products and services. Mr. Peterson is a recipient of the McKesson Keystone Award for outstanding technology innovation as well as multiple medals and ribbons as a USAF veteran, while also leading product recognition by leading publications Gartner and SC Magazine. Kevin brings a strong security educational background through ISC2 as a CISSP, with a Certificate of Business Excellence from the University of California (Berkeley) Haas School of Business to add to his 25 years of applied and wideranging security experience with leading public, private and government organizations Caroline Piselli, RN, MBA, FACHE Health Industries Advisory Director, PwC Ms. Piselli brings 30 years of experience in healthcare strategic planning, operational redesign, business development, and as a clinician. She previously managed Clinical and Economic Research clinical aspects and most recently was responsible for Business and Strategy for the Reimbursement and Pay for Outcomes business at 3M Health Information Systems. She continued to manage ICD 10 and Pay for Performance programs from conception through national implementation. At 3M, her executive oversight included business strategy and operations for new classification methodologies and solutions supporting ICD 10 and pay for performance/ new regulations, in collaboration with clinical research, development, consulting and marketing. Previously, she was director of enterprise wide strategic planning/ marketing/ business development for a $1.5 billion academic health system from conception to realization. She also owned a consulting firm specializing in healthcare reengineering. Ms. Piselli began her career as an intensive care nurse. Her clinical background includes managing intensive care/ transplant units, serving as a nurse coordinator for an NIH research trial and creating Health Promotion center for the community, corporations and employees. Erik Pupo Specialist Leader, Federal Health, Deloitte Consulting LLP As Deloitte's key senior advisor on standards and interoperability, Erik works with several federal health agencies, providing expertise on health information exchange and healthcare standards, and serves as the lead for standards and interoperability efforts on the DOD/VA iehr (Integrated Electronic Health Record) through the Interagency Program Office (IPO).

6 Emily Richmond, MPH Senior Manager, Health Care Quality, Practice Fusion, Inc. Ms. Emily Richmond, MPH currently serves as Senior Manager, Health Care Quality at Practice Fusion, Inc., a web based electronic health record company headquartered in San Francisco, California. Ms. Richmond is as a subject matter expert in areas that include quality improvement program development and implementation, quality measure development, electronic quality measurement specifications, and health information exchange standards including CCDA, C32, Direct, and QRDA. In her role at Practice Fusion, Ms. Richmond manages the quality improvement strategy for Practice Fusion customers, including developing and implementing quality measurement and reporting standards for providers participating in Meaningful Use, PQRS and other federal quality reporting programs. One of Ms. Richmond s recent tasks included serving as compliance and project manager for Practice Fusion s 2014 EHR Certification process, including serving as internal lead for disseminating certification requirements to the engineering leads and program managers. Ms. Richmond is a member of the HIMSS Electronic Health Record Association (EHRA) and currently services as the Chair of the Clinician Experience workgroup and Vice Chair of the Quality Measurement workgroup. Kristina Sheridan Associate Department Head, Systems Analysis, Design and Integration, MITRE Ms. Sheridan is the principal investigator for the MITRE research project, the "HealthAction Patient Toolkit." This research includes the development of a simple, interactive, interoperable mobile application that collects, archives, and organizes patient health data. This project combines Ms. Sheridan's experience as a long term caregiver and patient advocate with her data management and IT skills. She has over 25 years of experience in systems engineering, IT solutions, program management, and consulting across the information system lifecycle. Jon V. Thomas, MD, MBA Chair, Board of Directors, Federation of State Medical Boards Dr. Thomas is a practicing physician and the Chair of the FSMB Board of Directors. After completing residency at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery in 1993, Dr. Thomas joined a group of three Otolaryngologists in St. Paul, MN. Over the ensuing decade, the group of three has grown to a group of 21 through acquisition and merger. Since 2006, Dr. Thomas has served as President and CEO of the combined entity, Ear, Nose & Throat SpecialtyCare of Minnesota. In 2001, Dr. Thomas earned an MBA in Medical Group Management from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. Dr. Thomas was appointed to the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice by Governor Jesse Ventura in He was reappointed in 2005 and 2010 by Governor Tim Pawlenty. Dr. Thomas chaired the Board s Complaint Review Committee from 2003 to 2006 and was elected Secretary of the Board in 2005, Vice President in 2006, and President in 2007 and In 2008, he chaired the Policy and Planning Committee. He has served as Chair of the FSMB s Executive and Planning Committees and has participated on multiple other committees and workgroups for the FSMB and has been a lecturer and panelist at FSMB Annual Meetings. He currently serves on the Medical Surgical Quality Management Subcommittee of PreferredOne, a large PPO in Minnesota. He formerly served on the Senior Management Team of United Hospital, St. Paul's largest hospital. He is currently serving as Chief of Staff.

Buzz also served as the founding Executive Director for the North Texas Accountable Healthcare Partnership, a non profit organization providing a full suite of enabling technologies as the regional health information exchange for over 140 hospitals and 12,000 physicians throughout North Texas.
