2 Objectives Design and development of a WebGIS platform for the School of Environmental Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala to publish & share various geographical database including the resultant information generated by projects to the public through the School website.
3 What is WebGIS? Web GIS can be defined as any GIS that uses web technology to communicate between a server and a client. Web GIS is the obvious graduation of GIS on a distributed environment through a simple browser. It enables organizations to share domain-specific rich and dynamic spatial information over the web. Accessing geospatial data Conducting geospatial analyses on the Web. (Fang YIN et al., 2009).
