4 Introduction from Gareth Hemming, Regional Broker Director Welcome to your commercial online quick-start guide. It includes all you need to start trading with us through your SSP system. Fast Trade, our extranet, has been a great success and we continue to add new products to it, but many of you have told us that an integrated solution - no double keying, the ability to see comparative quotes in an instant, and trading commercial products straight through your software house would make a real difference so we ve listened, and based on your feedback I m delighted to announce that we ve completely revamped our SSP commercial software house offering. As always, we want to know what you think, and understand what opportunities there are to develop our business together so if you have any comments or thoughts, then please speak to your Aviva business development manager or etrading@aviva.co.uk. 4

6 Property Owners (Commercial) Overview Our Commercial Property Owners product offers a comprehensive range of core covers and a wide choice of options for owners of one to 10 commercial properties. Catering for locations with a rebuilding sum insured of up to 2m, including office blocks, shops, warehouses and factories. For more details click here Pub & Restaurant and Hotel Overview Based on our considerable understanding of the hospitality industry we ve split our policy into three areas to best meet the specific needs of your clients. These areas are: Pub and Wine Bar; Hotel and Guesthouse; and Restaurant and Takeaway. All come with extensive protection and offer numerous useful options. For more details click here Self-employed (Tradesman) Overview Our Self-employed product meets the needs of sole traders and businesses with up to five employees, who either work from home or at a third-party site. It provides a wide core offering and the ability to tailor the package with trade-specific covers. It s available to a wide trade list, across the construction, leisure, professional services and retail sectors. For more details click here 6

7 Getting started How does it all work? To ensure a slick, seamless process, proven imarket technology is used behind the scenes. After initial registration though, all trading will be through SSP - you ll not need to visit the imarket site unless you wish to add insurers to your comparison panel. How do I get started? You need to ensure your brokerage is fully set up in order to start trading. This is very simple. The action that you need to take depends on what services your brokerage is already registered for. If your brokerage is not registered with imarket: Step 1: Register with imarket. Visit click on the Register tab and follow the steps. You ll need to provide simple information on yourself and your brokerage, which will include your relevant Aviva commercial agency reference number (which will begin 50, 51 or 97) - if you don t know this contact your Aviva business development manager (BDM). Ensure that if you re not the broker principal they re aware that you re registering, and during the set up process you select Aviva as one of the insurers that you wish to see quotes from. When this process is complete you ll receive a welcome pack through the post. Step 2: Register with SSP Contact SSP on who will enable your commercial trading functionality by providing you with a registration form. Once completed, you ll receive notification (within 2-3 days) of when you and any colleagues can start trading. If your brokerage is registered with imarket but has never traded commercial products through SSP: Register with SSP Contact SSP on who ll provide you with a registration form to set up your commercial trading functionality. SSP will ask you for your imarket registration details. If you no longer have these then you ll need to contact the imarket helpdesk on You ll receive notification of when you and any colleagues can start trading. 7

8 I m registered for imarket & SSP commercial trading but Aviva doesn t appear Your brokerage may be set up to trade commercial lines through SSP, but if Aviva does not appear as a comparative option you need to add us. Amending this is simple and will allow you to check how our new products stack up against those of your existing insurer choices. Step 1: Aviva You need to identify who your imarket administrator is. This person can log in to imarket and add Aviva under the Register with new insurer option on the Admin tab. You ll need to input your relevant Aviva commercial agency reference number (which will begin 50, 51 or 97) - if you don t know this contact your BDM. And if you don t know who your administrator is or need a password reset just contact the imarket helpdesk on

9 Trading Aviva products The Quote Process Find and select your customer in the usual way using Customer Search. Electra M3 screens Electra M3 screen 9

10 Once you ve selected the desired customer Click the New Qu button followed by the ComQ button. You ll then be presented with a list of available products. Electra M3 screen Once you select a product and click the Accept button this will launch the Common Trading Platform (CTP) 10

11 SSP Pure Screens (Sirius21) From S21 Work Manager select the CTP task group and then Quote Manager. The Quote Manager screen displays, initially presenting a list of clients who have a quote obtained through CTP. Click New Quote to start preparing a new quotation. The Find Client screen displays allowing you to search for or create a client. You ll then be presented with the Product Selection screen Once you select a product from the drop down and click the OK button this will launch the Common Trading Platform (CTP) 11

12 Insight screens Find and select your customer in the usual way using Customer Search. Once you ve selected the desired customer click the Add Policy button. You ll then be presented with the following screen 12

14 Fill in the relevant Risk Data (Mandatory fields are denoted by a red asterisk). Upon clicking the final Next button you ll be presented with the Available Quotes Screen, showing a list of quotes from the available insurers (In the screen shot below we ve only enabled the Aviva insurer) From this Screen you can Edit and Re-Quote the risk by clicking the Edit Risk Button, Buy \ Place on Cover the risk by clicking the Buy link, or Save the quote to your Back office system by clicking the Select Link followed by the Return to Electra Button, Return to Sirius button or Close (Insight) button 14

15 Premium Summary/Documentation Documentation All documentation (excluding cancellation schedules) will be instantly available following the process below. Cancellation schedules will be available via in our edocs facility. Once the quote is returned click the View Details Link This will load the Summary of Cover Page. If you scroll to the bottom of this page you will see a list of available documents. 15

17 Referral Process If your quote is in a status of Refer it requires intervention from an Aviva Underwriter. If you d like Aviva to consider offering terms please call our Commercial online underwriting team on We will need either UW Quote ref which can be found on the summary of cover or the Quote Number from the top of the Quotation schedule doc. The underwriter will review the quote submission and return a quote to the SSP CTP system. You ll be contacted when this has been done. To access the quote from your back office, select the relevant customer as done previously using your Customer search, Double click the relevant Quote from the list of Quotes, Click the Risk Button, Select Option 1 Risk Summary, then Option 6 Access Risk. This will Launch CTP and return you to the Available Quotes Screen as previously described 17

18 Going On Cover To accept a saved quote from your back office and place on cover, select the relevant customer as done previously using your Customer search. Double click the relevant Quote, Click the Risk Button, Select Option 1 Risk Summary, then Option 6 Access Risk. This will Launch CTP and return you to the Available Quotes Screen To Place the Quote on Cover click the Buy link. You ll then be presented with a Confirmation message, click ok to proceed or cancel to quit the purchase. Upon Clicking OK the Quote will be placed on Cover and the Policy Details screen will be displayed 18

19 Scrolling down this page will display any Endorsements and Conditions, with any Policy documents being displayed at the bottom of the Page 19

20 Clicking the Return to Electra or Return to Sirius button will then save all the Policy Details back to your Back Office System. On Insight closing the browser window will return you back to Insight. 20

21 Cancellations If you need to cancel a policy please call our Commercial online underwriting team on We ll need your clients policy number. Once we have cancelled the policy in our system we will ask you to process the cancellation in your own SSP system. Renewals For business written, we ll have renewal capability ready and in place before the business falls due for renewal. We ll update you with the renewals process in due course. Agency Transfers Because of the integration between SSP and Aviva and the multiple potential routes to market it s not possible to perform agency transfers on SSP transacted policies. If you ve received instruction from a client requesting a transfer from another intermediary then the existing policy will need to be cancelled and a new policy issued. 21

22 Frequently Asked Questions Q) Do I need a new agency reference to start trading? A) No. Your existing commercial package agency can be used. If you don t know what this is contact your Aviva business development manager. Q) What commission will I receive? A) The same level of commission you currently receive for package business traded on Fast Trade or manually. Q) Will I be able to alter commission for an individual case? A) No. The agency set commission will apply. Q) Will any business written contribute towards a deal I have with Aviva? A) Yes, business written will be included in deals. Q) If I want to pay by direct debit or debit or credit card, will I need to use ecollections? A) Yes, ecollections can be used to make payment and can be accessed via We ll also provide PDF instructions on the payment options available at the point of going on cover. Q) Is there a price and/or cover difference between Fast Trade and through my Software House? A) There could be differences in price and cover due to the different questions on SSP/ imarket. They re based on the same product/pricing but won t be identical. Q) What if I want Aviva to make a change for me? A) For integration to work all transactions have to start with you in SSP. We re unable to make any change to your quote or policy unless it is in refer to UW status. Q) How do I get further copies of this guide? A) Further copies can be downloaded from Q) Are policy wording available to order? A) Yes, policy wordings can be ordered from under the services and stationery section. These will be the same as the Fast Trade policy wordings. 22
