During the 2000s, the utilisation of wood has increased significantly every year. The wood products industry has also benefited from this growth and has consequently enhanced its wood processing capabilities. The PRT-Forest Group has participated actively in the growth and development of the Finnish wood products industry. 4 PRT-Forest manufactures the leading Pyhännän Rakennustuote Oy, the largest producer of prefabricated houses in Finland, manufactures the Jukka range of houses, whose popularity is based on the advantages of modern industrial production: reliable factory quality, the individuality of structural solutions, as well as superb energy efficiency. Pyhännän Rakennustuote Oy also manufactures single-family homes under the Kotitalo brand name. Based in Tornio, Lappli-Talot Oy s production continues Finland s old traditions and its rustic architecture. Besides domestic markets, Lappli-Talot Oy s high-quality, distinctive and tradition-rich houses are manufactured for export.

5 brands for quality living When close-grained northern wood, the latest production technologies and decades of experience are combined, the result is the concept of Kontio quality. Kontiotuote Oy in Pudasjärvi manufactures Kontio log houses and leisure dwellings; the company is one of the world s leading manufacturers of log buildings. Kontiotuote Oy also manufactures log houses and leisure dwellings under the Kimara trademark. Mellano Oy, with its versatile product range, is the largest manufacturer of cupboard doors in Finland s built-in furnishings markets. Mellano produces Merite cupboard doors and worktops from MDF board at the company s Lapinlahti and Pieksämäki factories using the latest manufacturing technology. The Merite product line also includes sliding doors, frames, wood doors and fittings.

6 PRT-Forest s technical expertise also improves living quality. Piklas Oy manufactures windows and doors from domestic, selected and highquality raw materials. The production of Piklas windows and doors pays special attention to their uniformity and material selections. Piklas Oy only uses specially dried, sorted and knotfree solid pine or glued pine blanks in its wood components. Window and door fittings are always implemented according to the customer s preference.

7 PRT Lami produces Lami gluelaminated beams and blanks. PRT- Lami s sophisticated technology, precise quality control and quality assurance standards guarantee highquality and consistent products for customers. Lami glue-laminated timber is also a first-class product when used as a blank for products such as lamella logs. The PRT Lami I-beam is a lightweight beam formed by gluing upper and lower wood chords to a fibreboard centre panel. It is mainly used to support sub-floor, intermediate floor and roof joists as well as exterior wall frames. PRT Wood Oy s sawmills at Pyhäntä and Pyhäsalmi process wood for international markets. Besides its sawmill operations, the company also upgrades timber by planing, impregnating, and producing fingerjointed and strength-graded sawn goods with specified dimensions.
