2 The European Union is a politico economic union of 28 member states that are located primarily in Europe.
3 European funds Structural Funds : The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) The European Social Fund (ESF) The Cohesion Fund European Fisheries Fund European Agricultural Guarantee Fund European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development
4 Youth Programs One of the aims of the European Community is to raise the level of education in the Member States and the development of co operation in the field of education.
5 The EU institutions implement a number of programs that promote the development of modern methods of education, and facilitate young people to study or work as a trainee abroad
6 The Socrates programme It was an educational initiative of the European Commission, 31 countries took part, the initial Socrates programme ran from 1994 until 31 December 1999 when it was replaced by the Socrates II.
7 Declared aims To strengthen the European dimension of education at all levels To improve knowledge of European languages To promote co operation and mobility throughout education To encourage innovation in education To promote equal opportunities in all sectors of education
8 Building blocks The Comenius programme relating to primary and secondary. The Erasmus programme relating to higher. The Grundtvig programme relating to adult education. The Lingua programme relating to education in European languages. The Minerva programme relating to information and communication technology in education.
9 Programme Socrates II educational program launched by the European Union in 2000 as a continuation of Socrates I In 2006 the edition of Socrates II came to an end
10 Lifelong Learning Programme Took place in the years , the programme supported exchanges and connections between people, institutions and countries within the European Union and the European Economic Area.
11 The Programme's objectives to support the development of quality lifelong learning to help member states of the European Union develop their own education and training system to develop a sense of unity with Europe promote language learning and linguistic diversity at all levels of education

13 Erasmus + Is the European Union's new programme for boosting skills and employability through education, training, youth, and sport. Between the programme will provide opportunities for over 4 million Europeans tostudy,train,gain work experience, and volunteer abroad.
14 The Erasmus+ programme offers three main opportunities: Key Action 1: mobility opportunities for young people and youth workers. Key Action 2: opportunities for co operation for innovation and exchange of good practices. Key Action 3: opportunities to support policy reform.
15 Various opportunities are available under Erasmus+, including opportunities for young people (aged 13 30), youth organisations, and other stakeholders active in the field of youth.
16 Comenius The Comenius programme focused on the first phase of education, from pre school and primary to secondary schools. Part of the Socrates and Lifelong Learning Programme. Comenius sought to develop knowledge and understanding among young people and educational staff of the diversity of European cultures, languages and values.
17 Erasmus (European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students) It was a program of exchange of students and teachers, made a possibility to spend a part of studies abroad, as well as international practices in research institutions or enterprises, recruitment was carried at home university, participants received a scholarship.

20 Leonardo da Vinci was a European Commission funding programme focused on the teaching and training needs of those involved in vocational education and training. The programme funded a wide range of actions, including transnational mobility and European projects focusing on the development or the transfer of innovation and networks. The programme was addressed to trainees in initial vocational training, people on the labour market and professionals in vocational education and training.
