1 GEORGIA FARM BUREAU 2015 SCHOLARSHIP FOR AGRICULTURE Return completed application by Friday, February 6, 2015 to: Georgia Farm Bureau Field Services Department, P. O. Box 7068, Macon, GA Purpose: To recognize and assist deserving and outstanding young people who are pursuing a college degree in agriculture or a related field (see reference page). To promote leadership development within the agricultural sector. To encourage students to appreciate the values and opportunities of rural life. To foster an interest in Georgia Farm Bureau. Award: Scholarships will be awarded to the top ten students who confirm they are majoring in agriculture or a related field. The top three students will each receive a scholarship of $3,000. The remaining seven students will each receive a $750 scholarship. Scholarship funds will be distributed upon confirmation of the students major and college/university. Scholarship checks will be sent to the college/university as confirmed by the recipient and placed in their college account. The applicants will be notified by mail in April Eligibility: The applications must first be approved and signed by the county Farm Bureau president where the application is being accepted before being submitted. (This may be in the county where the student resides or the county where the student attends high school.) Students submitting an application must be a Georgia high school senior for the current academic year and plan to be enrolled in a unit of The University System of Georgia or Berry College during the academic year pursuing an undergraduate degree in agricultural and environmental sciences, family and consumer sciences or a related agricultural field. Applicant must have a minimum 3.2 GPA. Application Requirements: Completed application signed by student and county Farm Bureau president. Copy of transcript One letter of recommendation Formal Digital Photos of Winners The top ten scholarship recipients will be required to submit a digital file or photo quality copy of their formal senior portrait photo to dhrocker@gfb.org upon notification of being a scholarship recipient.
