Guest Instructions Playing one of our murder mysteries requires no special acting abilities, just a willingness to have fun. Our site gives you all the details you need to prepare for the party including character descriptions of all guests, internal information about your character (do not reveal this to others), and costume/prop recommendations. During the party, each of you will be given clues. The clues provide all the information required to unlock the mystery. Each clue is designated as either "Your Comment" or "Your Response". Clues labeled as "Your Comment" should be revealed to other guests in casual conversation during the round. Clues labeled as 'Your Response' provide information you should use in response to inquiries from other guests. During the party, guests will mingle around asking questions about each other's character and about clues you have received. As the game progresses, you will gather more and more information and at the end of the allotted time you will need to sift through fact and fiction to decide who is the murderer. The characters can be played to suit the comfort zone of each player. If you like the spotlight or enjoy role playing, immerse yourself in your character s persona and live the night as you think they would. You may even decide to exaggerate your character s personality for even more effect. On the other hand, if you prefer to participate in a less theatrical capacity, you may want to sit on the couch and let people come to you, approach each character off to the side or just listen in on other conversations until you get your feet wet and are feeling a bit more comfortable. There are only a few simple rules to follow when playing our games. 1. Stay in Character. (Costumes are highly recommended) 2. Hide/Stretch the truth, but don't lie! 3. Interrogate others. Each game takes approximately 1-1/2 to 3 hrs, depending on the number of people playing. Host-Party.com Murder Mystery Games Page 3 of 12

Round 1 Round Instructions Host should distribute clues and then read the following to your guests to set the stage. San Antonio Rose, the midnight-to-six DJ, found Texas Todd, general manager and program director of KRUD Radio, dead early this morning. He had been stabbed once in the chest by the Bowie knife he d used as a letter opener and then he was hanged from the rafters of the broadcast shack next to the station s transmitting tower. Audiotape was used as the noose. Tyler Tom, who had a meeting with Texas Todd early that morning, helped calm Rose after he arrived and was the one who called the sheriff. While locally he was a real celebrity, appearing at community functions of various sorts, not much was known about the prior life of Texas Todd by the citizens of Triumphant before he drifted into town three years ago and secured a job from Galveston Gary, the new owner of the station. At that time and over the strenuous objections of Houston Hannah, the former owner of KRUD Radio, Texas Todd changed the format of the station from a combination of Blues/Jazz and symphonic music to Western Swing, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, featuring such "Maestros of the Prairie" as The Tumbling Tumbleweeds, among others. As far as anyone knew for certain, Texas Todd was alone in the world, having no real friends and only a couple of acquaintances, one of whom was Waco Wanda, who d served him dinner every night just before he went on the air and Austin Annie who was often the butt of his on-air jokes and pranks. The houseguest and spiritual advisor of Houston Hannah, Corpus Christi Jesus, claimed that he knew who Texas Todd was in a previous life but, since Todd had told him this in confidence, Corpus Christi Jesus could not divulge the story. Dallas Don, who said that Texas Todd had agreed to prepare an audiotape on the history of Western Swing, offered a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the murderer. The Sheriff has asked that you all meet at KRUD Radio in Texas Todd s office. Now that everyone has arrived, the Sheriff has called to say that he is running late. He has asked that you begin to talk among yourselves to see if you might be able to uncover any clues to the case. Host-Party.com Murder Mystery Games Page 4 of 12

Round 1 Clue for Austin Annie Your Comment You have it on good authority that Houston Hannah once remarked that, I hate that Texas Todd with such a passion. Nothing anybody could do to that man would be bad enough for him. This clue should be revealed to others. "- Round 1 Clue for Austin Annie Your Response Yes, you did say that you wished Texas Todd was out of your life for good and all, but you only meant that you wished the owner of the radio station (Galveston Gary) would can the old fool, so he would quit making fun of you over the air. Also, you wonder what sort of hold Texas Todd has over Galveston Gary that the latter would put up with so much guff? This clue should be revealed to others. 9 Round 1 Clue for Corpus Christi Jesus Your Comment You know, from conversations with Houston Hannah, that Galveston Gary, her ex-husband, is heavily in debt and financially desperate. This clue should be revealed to others. "- Round 1 Clue for Corpus Christi Jesus Your Response While San Antonio Rose is an attractive young woman, to be sure, she s a comparative child to Houston Hannah, who is the woman of your dreams. This clue should be revealed to others. Host-Party.com Murder Mystery Games Page 6 of 12

Round 1 Clue for Dallas Don Your Comment You have discovered, on good authority, that geologists looking at the land owned by Galveston Gary land on which sits KRUD Radio is land Tyler Tom is interested in, but not for oil exploration. You ve hired private detective to check into Tom s bidness and the background of others in Triumphant. This clue should be revealed to others. Host-Party.com Murder Mystery Games Page 7 of 12

Character Information The information below will provide you with the basic information for each character. If you have assigned guests to the characters, these pages will include the guest name and login information. THESE PAGES MAY INCLUDE DETAILS RELATED TO SOLVING THE MYSTERY! You may want to avoid these pages if you intend to try to solve the mystery. This sample kit will only show the first two characters. Austin Annie (Sales Manager of KRUD Radio) played by Mari Description: Austin Annie is the sales manager of KRUD Radio, the driving force behind the station s financial success, such as it is, and frequently the butt of many of the on-the-air pranks of Texas Todd. She is in her late forties, although she looks much younger than that, as she believes in both a proper diet, plenty of rest and exercise and the wonders of plastic surgery. While she is not originally from Triumphant, Texas (the location of KRUD Radio) she has lived there for years, having moved there to take the job as sales manager. Motive: YOU KILLED TEXAS TODD. As the killer, you may lie to protect yourself, whereas the others are obliged to tell the truth. You killed him because he was about to expose you as Longview Lana, his exwife. You, along with Amarillo Arnie, your lover and a former member of the Western Swing band founded by Texas Todd (The Tumbling Tumbleweeds) had robbed a bank while Texas Todd and the band were playing. As you made off with the money, a guard, who you subsequently shot, killed Amarillo Arnie. You made a clean getaway, but the authorities arrested Texas Todd, who was convicted as an accessory to robbery and served time in prison. With the money you began a new life in Mexico. You underwent plastic surgery to alter your features; took voice lessons to change the way you spoke; and bribed some Mexican officials to claim that you had died in a boating accident. As fate would have it, while in Mexico you ran into Galveston Gary, a man whom you knew to be a cousin of Texas Todd, and who was celebrating his recent divorce from Houston Hannah. Using your considerable charms, you managed to secure the job of sales manager at your new lover s new radio station, KRUD, so that you might be near Texas Todd and perhaps somehow get from him the rights to the songs of The Tumbling Tumbleweeds, which one day might be worth a pretty penny. Also, since you had about run through all the money from the bank robbery, you had plans on becoming the next Mrs. Galveston Gary, if need be, when Texas Todd finally saw through you and demanded that you meet him in his office late one evening. You arrived at KRUD not long before San Antonio Rose was scheduled to go off the air at 6:00AM, a time when you and Texas Todd were the only other persons around. After being certain that he had told no one of your secret, you murdered him in his office with the Bowie knife he used as a letter opener and then hung him from the rafters with audiotape. Then you drove home to your bungalow, where you telephoned Tyler Tom shortly after you arrived, in order to establish an alibi. Host-Party.com Murder Mystery Games Page 9 of 12

Corpus Christi Jesus (Traveling Spiritual Leader) played by Ted Description: Corpus Christi Jesus is a self-styled spiritual leader, New Age consultant and the author of several books published by an anonymous benefactor. He is a stranger to town, who is closed mouthed about his roots and home, although he hints of ties to old Spanish land grants in Texas, Mexico and California. He is a fancy dresser, given to expensive suits and rakish ties. He appears to be only a little over 30 and currently resides in the guesthouse at Houston Hannah s ranch. Motive: Since you are NOT the killer, you are obliged to tell the truth, when asked it directly, although you are not required to offer anything. Only the killer may lie. You are of course a charlatan. You are not from a family with ties to old Spanish land grants; you are not a spiritual leader of any import, and neither are you a New Age consultant. You are, however, the author of several books published by an autonomous benefactor, who is in point of fact Houston Hannah, a woman off of whom you live. Somehow, you have been able to convince her that you are the genuine article, and her faith in you would move mountains. You know who Texas Todd was in a previous life, as you and he were cellmates the time you were convicted of extortion. You are afraid he might spill the beans, yet so far your secret has been safe with him. Your recent attentions to San Antonio Rose, however, have caused Texas Todd to warn you to stay away from her, or he will tell all of Triumphant, beginning with Houston Hannah, about your past. Because of all this, you of course know that Texas Todd served time for accessory to armed robbery. Host-Party.com Murder Mystery Games Page 10 of 12
