1 2015 International UNIVERSITY OPEN Cuernavaca, MEXICO 27 July 1 Aug 2015 INVITATION LETTER Dear Friends, The UIPM Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne, together with CONDDE Mexican University Sports Federation and the Mexican Modern Pentathlon Federation, have the pleasure to invite a delegation of your country to participate in the 2015 International University Open to be held in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico from July 27 Aug 1, according to the following program: Programme: (all times to be confirmed) 27 Jul Arrival of Delegations Arrival of Delegations 28 Jul 29 Jul 30 Jul 31 Jul 19:00 Technical Meeting Men s Individual Competition 20:30 Opening Ceremony Men s Individual Competition 19:00 Technical Meeting Women s Individual Competition Women s Individual Competition 19:00 Technical Meeting Mixed Relay Competition Mixed Relay Competition 18:00 Closing Ceremony 1 Aug Departure of Delegations ATHLETES ELIGIBILITY Age The competing athletes have to be born between 01 Jan 1987 and 31 December 1997; Registered university student Athletes are registered to the event by the NUSF, presenting an eligibility form (signed/stamped by their University) or their student card to have approval for entering the competition. Please send the attached entry form together with a copy of your NUSFs (National University Sports Federation) eligibility form (signed/stamped by their University) or their student card to: fmpmorganizacion@gmail.com and university@pentathlon.org by July 6, 2015.

2 As a consequence the athlete will be registered in the UIPM database in order to obtain a valid UIPM license. Number of participants The maximum number per gender and country is six (6) for the individual competitions and two (2) teams per country for the Mixed Relays. Exceptionally the host nation will have the right to enter a maximum of twelve (12) athletes per gender in the individual competitions, depending on the number of total entries. COMPETITION RULES The competition will be carried out according to the UIPM Rules: Swimming 25 metre indoor swimming pool / 6 lanes Fencing (Ranking Round) 10 pistes indoor Combined Run/Shoot Pavement surface 400m lap. All athletes need to bring their own laser pistol (the LOC will NOT provide laser pistol for the athletes) TRAINING The LOC will offer training facilities for swimming, shooting and fencing from 27 July For earlier arrangements please contact the organizer. ACCOMODATION RACQUET HOTEL Address: Av. Francisco Villa No. 100, Fracc. Rancho Cortés, C.P , Cuernavaca, Morelos. Tel: +52 (777) Web: TRANSPORT Transportation from the main airport to the official hotel and the return journey is only guaranteed if flight information is provided in good time and prior to the deadline. From the official hotel to the venue for the athletes will be ACCORDING to the training and competition program. The LOC ensures transportation from the International Airport of Mexico City (Benito Juarez) to host the event in Cuernavaca Morelos long as requested by the registration form. The LOC is not responsible of the delegations did not request in a timely manner.

3 FINANCIAL CONDITIONS All participants will be accommodated at Jacarandas Hotel. Availability of rooms at the hotel is limited, so the delegations will be accommodated in accordance on a first come basis. In case of exceeding our reservation we must also use the other hotel so we please send entry forms as soon as possible. Please note that the Technical Meeting, Accreditation Office, LOC Office etc. will be in the Headquarters Hotel. As it is approved by FISU, all delegation members (including athletes, coaches and officials) have to pay as follows: EUR 70 for a double room per night per person. The price includes full board accommodation, local transportation from/to the event and shuttle from/to the International Airport Benito Juarez in Mexico City. By 03 July, a non-refundable 30 percent deposit must be sent to the LOC after which we will send you an invoice for the remainder of the total cost for your delegation. This may be paid in cash (in Euro only) at the accreditation due on arrival, but we strongly recommend sent by bank transfer in advance. We will provide lunch packets for the competition days and allow access to official transportation between the headquarters hotel and competition sites. DEADLINES All information must be submitted, including flight information, pistol serial numbers, etc by 06 July. Any change after this must be sent by to the organizer. All NUSFs or NFs must send to the Organizing Nation/LOC bye electronic bank transfer or other means, 30% of the total amount of their accommodation invoice before 03 July, otherwise their reservation will not be guaranteed. Following closure of the registration system on 06 July, a country must enter the competition with at least one pentathlete/team per confirmed gender or Relay. Any NF failing to take part after having sent their final entries will pay a fine of 600 Euros to the UIPM.

4 We would appreciate early confirmation of your intention to participate or not and submit this as Entry Form A as well as indicate the number and type of rooms to be reserved for your team. Deadlines are as follows: Form A before 10 June Deadline to send 30% deposit 03 July Closure of Registration 06 July If we do not receive complete information of your delegation prior to closure of the registration system or we do not receive your Delegation s deposit payment, then we will consider your delegations as nonparticipating. INSURANCE According to UIPM rules, all members of attending delegations should insure themselves in case of accidental injury or illness. The organizer will not accept any responsibility financial or other for any loss, injury or illness of any member of the delegation. VISAS & VACCINATIONS Participating countries should confirm visa and vaccination requirements for entry in Mexico prior traveling to the event. The LOC cannot accept responsibility for arranging visas but can provide specific letters of invitation if needed. If you need a visa to enter Mexico please contact us at fmpmorganizacion@gmail.com For information if you need a visa or vaccination please contact your nearest Embassy or Consulate. FIREARMS Firearms Licenses are not a legal requirement when brining air and CO2 pistols to Mexico for competition purposes.

5 GENERAL INFORMATION All Athletes are kindly requested to wear their official national uniform at the competition. Please contact directly the LOC to request accommodation for family and friends wishing to attend the competition. Altitude: 1,380 m above sea level.
