5 John Giotis was born July 5, 1971 in Stamford, Connecticut to Sotirios and Irene Giotis. == Educational Background== John received his B.A. in Political Science from the University ofpittsburgh. He then went to England and received his M.A. in International Studies from the University of Sheffield. Upon returning to the United States, John received his MS.ED. in Elementary Education from the University of Bridgeport where he also began his Doctoral studies. John completed his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from LaSalle University in Mandeville, Louisiana (Disclosure Statement: LaSalle University was a legal, but unaccredited, degree granting institution while in operation). == Professional Career == John has been a successful educator and child advocate his entire career. He is considered a national leader in the fight to protect children (especially young women) from sexual abuse/exploitation and to protect children from internet predators. Due to his success as an educator and child advocate, he was recently honored by the Bush Administration by being appointed to serve on the Jacob Javits Fellowship Board. == Child Advocacy == John found his calling immediately after LaSalle University failed to receive accreditation. John soon realized how easily young adults could be blind-sided on the internet, like he had been when LaSalle University did not receive accreditation despite their assurances that they would. He knew that children (especially young girls) were even more vulnerable to nefarious people on the internet, so he decided to vigorously fight internet predators and internet pornography to try to protect as many children as he could. == Political Work == John got his political start while at the University ofpittsburgh with the College Republicans. He quickly built a reputation as a strong conservative and an effective campaigner. As a member of the Florida Christian Coalition, he continued to help conservative politicians get elected and was a strong advocate for many conservative issues in Pinellas County and statewide. In 2004 he played a key role in helping the Bush-Cheney 2004 grassroots efforts in Pinellas County, Florida. He also was the Pinellas County Director for the "Yes2Marriage" campaign in Florida. The campaign successfully enshrined marriage in the Florida Constitution as between one man and one woman.
