We will work individually or in collaboration to build a range of large kid-scale structures out of unlikely materials such as PVC pipes, rolled-up newspaper, large sponges converted into floppy wet bricks, or even hundreds of Dixie cups. In a class session you might try out a building challenge, work together on a large-scale project, or spend time exploring a new building material through open-ended construction. This class is ideal for creative, curious students who will enjoy developing their sculptural imagination, learning to think in three dimensions and with a wide range of materials. Becoming familiar with such artistic media will encourage your child to experiment, be creative, and become a confident young artist. In addition, ArtVentures have a stress on exploration of our natural surroundings. ArtVenturers will be encouraged to find visual elements (pattern, line, texture, value, weight, continuity, shape, etc) in everyday life, especially in natural settings such as the surrounding woods which encompass the museum grounds.
