7 MÜDEK Assciatin fr Evaluatin and Accreditatin f Engineering Prgrams: A brief histry May 2002: Engineering Deans Cuncil in Turkey established an independent, nn-gvernmental platfrm with the name Engineering Evaluatin Bard (MÜDEK) fr evaluatin f engineering degree prgrammes in Turkey. Jan 2003:MÜDEK held its first wrkshp fr prgram evaluatr training. Aug 2003: MÜDEK started its first prgram evaluatin activities. Jan 2007:MÜDEK became a legal entity in the frm f an assciatin: Changed its name t Assciatin fr Evaluatin and Accreditatin f Engineering Prgrams (Mühendislik Egitim Prgramlari Degerlendirme ve Akreditasyn Dernegi) while retaining the riginal acrnym MÜDEK as its shrt name. Outcme based accreditatin requires the HEIs t shw evidence that their graduates have acquired the minimum prgramme utcmes specified by the accreditatin agency. 14 MÜDEK Prgramme Outcmes (Criteria 3) Engineering prgrammes shuld demnstrate that students have achieved the fllwing 11 prgramme utcmes by the time they graduate: 1. Adequate knwledge in mathematics, science and engineering subjects pertaining t the relevant discipline; ability t use theretical and applied infrmatin in these areas t mdel and slve engineering prblems. 2. Ability t identify, frmulate, and slve cmplex engineering prblems; ability t select and apply prper analysis and mdelling methds fr this purpse. 3. Ability t design a cmplex system, prcess, device r prduct under realistic cnstraints and cnditins, in such a way s as t meet the desired result; ability t apply mdern design methds fr this purpse. (Realistic cnstraints and cnditins may include factrs such as ecnmic and envirnmental issues, sustainability, manufacturability, ethics, health, safety issues, and scial and plitical issues accrding t the nature f the design.) 4.
