3 About the Smart City Business Conference Energy Efficient Urban Planning & Smart Infrastructure Solutions City planning today is much more than defining locations for buildings, certain types of land use, and the connecting infrastructure. City planners have to face challenges like re-urbanization, the concentration of the population in metropolitan areas, or extreme weather situations. The resulting need for resource-efficient and sustainable solutions requires a new planning mindset: Integrated planning approaches leading to a smart organization and operation of cities including a smart economy, smart mobility, smart environment, smart government, smart living, and smart people. The Smart City Business Conference will introduce you to new technologies that can help us to make Smart Cities a reality. Hear about the latest news, developments, and technologies in the field of energy-efficient, sustainable urban planning while surveying the urban patterns of the city of Chicago from a bird s eye view from the 50th floor of the BCBS Tower, one of the tallest buildings in Chicago. Discover innovative products and technologies from Germany and discuss how they can be featured in the US market. Explore synergies and partnership opportunities with German experts during our conference. Learn how German cities solve current problems and deal with infrastructure issues and how your company can benefit from their expertise. Date & Venue Tuesday, August 27, :00am - 4:30pm Blue Cross Blue Shield Tower 50th floor Baker & McKenzie LLP 300 East Randolph Street, Suite 5000 Chicago, IL
