2 On-Call Unit Clerk The Unit Clerk provides administrative and clerical support services in the Nursing area, following-up with patient throughout and after the visit, making future appointments, and providing back-up support to other support services functions. Unit Clerks are cross-trained to perform all the duties at the "backroom" and front desk areas. Unit Clerks must be able to assist nursing and other staff in times of increased workload. 21 Dental Services Representative (Front Desk) AHS Dental Clinic/College of Alameda To perform front desk duties including patient registration and appointment, verifying patient records using electronic (Dentrix) or manual system, pre-authorization of treatment procedures, processing patient accounts and claims to insurance/payors, various administrative and clerical assistance, and other duties. Require at least high school graduation certificate, two years front desk experience in a dental or medical clinic, must know or received formal training in dental or medical terminology, with some education in dental assisting, fluent in Englishand strong skill in Chinese (Cantonese ), or Korean, and excellent people and customer service skills. 22 On-Call Assistant Under supervision of the Units Dept. Manager, the MA will perform routine clinical tasks including obtaining and recording patient information, simple nursing procedures, assisting physicians and licensed medical staff in minor surgery, infection control procedures, and ordering clinic supplies. Must be fluent in Cantonese & Mandarin, some a plus. Must have minimum 6 months 1 year experience in ambulatory medical clinic setting. Fluency in English, Bilingual in Flexible Hourly: $17.00 On-Call Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Perform nursing duties under the supervision of the registered nurse. Take and record vital signs, recognize variances from normal and take appropriate action. Maintain inventory and ordering or supplies; keep exam room and nursing area well stocked. Able to perform venipuncture and skin punctures for the purpose of lab tests. Perform basic in-house lab tests, obtain/process other specimens for outside laboratory. Perform EKG, spirometry, audiometry, Snellen, and other tests. Give IM, ID, SUQ, PO, and nebulized medications as ordered by the clinicians. Perform non-complicated nurse visits by using SOAP format under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Identify patient health education needs and participate in patient education. Review patient's conditions with clinician/rn as needed. Assist in medical procedures as needed. Sterilization, injection control, cleaning medical instruments/equipments, and cleaning of clinic areas. Insure patient's rights to privacy, safety, and confidentiality. Obtain continuing education credits and participate in goal setting, with guidance from the direct supervisor. Perform QA audits assigned by the Registered Nurse and identify patient care issues. 23 Physician, Family Practice or Internist For ongoing primary care to patients of AHS, and medical consultations as requested by colleagues, other staff, and students. Duties include provision of medical services to a full range of patients of all ages, urgent care services in the clinic and at affiliated sites. Collaborative practices with nurse practitioners and/or physician assistants, supervision of medical students and residents. Assist with triaging phone calls and drop-in visits. Participate in 24-hour on-call and hospitalization responsibilities. Minimum qualification: M.D. degree; current medical license from the California Board in Family Practice or Internal Medicine; Drug Enforcement Administration license; training or experience in primary care, community medicine, urgent care, and working within a multidisciplinary setting.
