1 JUNE Issue From the President 2 This Month at PAOS 3 From the Editor 4 The Bulletin Board 5 May Ribbon Winners 6 PAOS Supporters 7

2 From the President The view from the garden.. As I sit poolside, listening to the lapping water and gazing out towards the back garden, I realize summer is upon us. It s warm, sultry, and breezy and it feels so good to be outside. Sunlight and fresh air are as important to us as it is to our orchids. I wander and check through my plants. who is happy today, who is not, who is in spike, and wow, who is in bloom? Is that tag still attached so I know who you are? By People of Lancaster My porch is filled with comfortable spaces to sit, maybe it s time to space out a few of the plant pots and make sure they are comfortable as well, maybe turn them a little more towards the changing sun and make sure they are getting all that beautiful moving air that I am also enjoying. If I am feeling a little thirsty and need a cool drink of water, perhaps I should check and see if any of my babies are thirsty too. Is it time for some nourishment? Maybe they need some food too. It s easy to take care of orchids if you know how to take care of yourself. Sunlight, fresh air, something to eat and drink, a comfortable and peaceful place to sit, something beautiful to look at and something beautiful to smell. Those of us who live in South Florida are the luckiest people on the planet. It is perfect here for us and for our orchids. Relax and restore this summer, and I ll see you at the meeting! See you at the meetings Gail President 2

4 From The Editor Our newsletter this month is missing Joan Manley s lovely pictures. Joan missed our last meeting to attend her father s funeral. Our prayers go out to her and her family in their hour of need. It is moments like these that help us take stock of our lives and priorities. Take advantage of every moment you have with your loved ones and let them know they matter. The memories we create is what will remain. PAOS is also in the business of creating memories. Memories of warm friendships shared over common interests. To facilitate our communications we have a brand new Facebook presence. A group has been created on FB where we can ask questions, share our photos, etc. Just click here to explore and join our group.
