2 FITTINGS FOR STEEL PIPE THE QUICKEST & EASIEST WAY TO CONNECT STEEL PIPE Tabs EPDM Gasket FASTLOCK fittings provide the quickest and easiest way to connect schedules 10 through 40 black and galvanized ASTM A53 compliant steel pipe. FASTLOCK fittings are available in a complete range of sizes from ½" 2". FASTLOCK fittings install without the use of threading dies, pipe sealants, or pipe wrenches; significantly reducing average installation time, saving time and money. Because they connect without wrenches, FAST- LOCK fittings reduce stress on joists and hangers during installation. FASTLOCK press Jaws have an integral indent feature to ensure fast recognition of pressed valves prior to pressure testing. FASTLOCK press jaws are compatible with most press tools on the market, including Ridgid, Rothenberger, REMS, and Stanley VIRAX. FASTLOCK fittings feature a specialized, corrosion-resistant, malleable cast iron body with stainless steel fastening rings and EPDM sealing gaskets. Applications include water, HVAC, and compressed air systems. The annealing process used in their manufacturing provides them with a greater malleability well suited for press connections. During manufacturing, all FASTLOCK fittings are hot-dipped in 99.99% pure, molten zinc. This process completely coats the fittings surface inside and outside, giving them additional strength and providing a resistance to oxide corrosion, making them excellent for use in drinking water systems. FASTLOCK fittings ensure a tightly sealed connection utilizing a pre-assembled sealing gasket and stainless steel gripping ring. The thick EPDM sealing gasket provides a wide contact surface between the fitting and the pipe, ensuring the connection is air and water tight after pressing. The AISI 316L stainless steel ring grips the pipe and prevents it from pulling out, even in cases of very high pressure. Tabs on the fitting end retain the sealing gasket and stainless steel gripping ring. The diagram below illustrates how all of these features provide FASTLOCK fittings with a strong and secure press connection. Press Tools for FASTLOCK FASTLOCK fittings must be used with FASTLOCK approved press jaws only. FASTLOCK jaws are compatible with press tools from Ridgid, Rothenberger, REMS, and Stanley VIRAX. The press tool must be for sizes up to 2" with a press force of at least 32kN and operating either at 110 volts or on battery power. Cut the pipe perpendicular to its axis. 4 3 Deburr the end of the pipe to avoid damaging the gasket. Make sure the pipe is free of debris, rust, paint, scale, etc. 5 ark the insertion depth on the pipe. M Insert the pipe into the fitting until it makes contact with the stop. Verify the presence, integrity and correct positioning of the gasket and metal ring. If necessary, lubricate the pipe and fitting with approved silicone spray. 6 Complete the press connection using FASTLOCK jaws in accordance with your press tool s instructions. Verify the press connection. NOTE: Connections MUST be made on ASTM A53 compliant pipe using FASTLOCK approved jaws ONLY. 8 INDUSTRIE METALLURGICHE SPOLETO SPA (IMS) warrants to wholesalers and licensed plumbing and mechanical contractors in the United States and Canada that: FASTLOCK Press System Fittings ( AFL trademark) will be free from defects in materials and workmanship when properly installed and used under normal conditions for a period of 50 years from installation. IMS is subject to the conditions and limitations contained in this warranty. Under this limited warranty, a claim can only be made if a manufacturing defect causes a leak or failure during the warranty period. This IMS warranty does not apply if a failure or any damage is caused by any of the following: 1. Products, parts or components not manufactured or sold by IMS. 2. Products not installed under recommended instructions (including but not limited to system design, installation, inspection or testing) provided by IMS or applicable code requirements. 3. Any damage caused in part or in whole by the following: a. Improper handling and protection of the product before, during or after installation. Including but not limited to misuse, abuse, tampering, neglect or accidental damage. b. Subjection to conditions outside acceptable operating ranges, including but not limited to temperature and pressure. c. Acts of nature or natural disasters including, but not limited to fire, earthquakes, floods or lightning. d. External environmental causes due to any external chemical or physical conditions, including but not limited to variation in water quality and aggressive water. e. Any cause out of the control of IMS. WARRANTY ON FASTLOCK PRODUCT In the event of a leak or failure the property owner must contact IMS within thirty (30) days of the failure and create a warranty claim. The property owner must remove the product with at least six inches of pipe on each end (where applicable) and mail it at their expense to IMS. It is the burden on the property owner to make and pay for any repairs. IMS will inspect and test the returned product and will notify the claim holder in writing in a reasonable amount of time the result of the diagnosis. If it is found that the failure or leak was caused by a defect in material or workmanship, IMS will be responsible for the replacement of the part and/or reimbursement or repair. IMS s liability under this warranty is limited ONLY to the repair and/or replacement of parts found to contain defect in material or workmanship. This does NOT include loss of business/profits, water damage, mold intrusion, etc... IMS is not liable for any other or consequential damage. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability. This is the only warranty provided for the FASTLOCK product. No agent of IMS (employees, distributors or other person or business) is authorized to create or modify this or any warranty on behalf of the IMS. This limited warranty gives the product owner specific legal rights. The product owner may have other legal rights which vary from state to state.
