Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Recognise your skills with the help of our RPL Team. We know that you have gained many skills either in the workplace, through life experiences or in previous training you may have undertaken. Our expert RPL Team is happy to work with you to have the skills that match your studies recognised. This means you don t have to study that part of your course - saving you time and effort! The RPL Team can assist with any of the courses or individual units listed in this catalogue. You will be assisted by a case manager who will help you with every step of the process. The majority of skills can be assessed using our simple online application. This process is designed for students studying externally in 2013 and is all part of our commitment to supporting your learning efforts. Your external lecturer will advise you of due dates for assessments within the study period. Your counselling lecturer will work with you to develop a Study Plan to assist you in the successful completion of your studies. 3 Skills for All If you are eligible for a Skills for All training place, you will pay no course fees at TAFE SA for courses that are: nationally recognised Certificate I and II level courses accredited to improve your reading, writing, numeracy and computer skills determined to be priority courses needed for skills in South Australia. Fee free courses applies to tuition only. In some courses there will be incidental fees for specifics tools, materials, events or uniforms. The options available are listed under each qualification. On campus On campus learning allows you to learn in a traditional classroom environment. Students attend classes at set times, at the campus where they enrolled. This form of learning gives you the opportunity to bounce ideas off your lecturer and others within your learning group. External External learning gives you the opportunity to learn at a time that best suits you. Course materials may be mailed out in print format and/or sent to you on DVD or by . You ll be supported in your learning by your lecturer who will be available by phone, mail or . Some courses may require you to have access to a computer connected to the internet. On & off campus The best of both worlds, this study mode allows you to learn online or externally for much of the course, with some elements on campus either as scheduled classes or workshops. This mode usually allows you to study the theory elements of a course at home, in your own time, while requiring you to be on campus to take part in practical training, where you can engage with your lecturer and peers. Some courses may require you to have access to a computer connected to the internet. Online Online courses are web-based, designed to engage and stimulate the learner, and are not simply a collection of resources. You ll be supported and guided in your learning through interaction with skilled lecturers and other students, via , forums and chat groups. This mode provides great flexibility, as you can learn at your own pace, in your own space. Online courses require you to have access to a computer with an internet connection. How to Apply TAFE SA offers many courses to suit many people. Some courses might require two or three years study, whereas another course might be a skills update that only lasts an afternoon. Courses can differ by duration or by delivery method. Some are open to anyone who wants to apply while others have conditions of eligibility. Just as there are many different types of course, there are different ways to apply for these courses. Persons providing a Business Activity Statement (BAS) for a fee or other reward (other than employees) must be registered by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB). A BAS service is a tax agent service that relates to: Ascertaining liabilities, obligations or entitlements of an entity that arises, or could arise, under a BAS provision Advising an entity about liabilities, obligations or entitlements of the entity or another entity that arises, or could arise, in their dealings with the Commissioner in relation to a BAS provision Representing an entity in their dealings with the Commissioner of Taxation is providing, in circumstances where the entity can reasonably be expected to rely on the service for either or both of the following purposes: to satisfy liabilities or obligations that arise, or could arise, under a BAS provision to claim entitlements that arise, or could arise, under a BAS provision This qualification is currently cited as meeting the educational requirements for registration.
