1 Door Schedules and Window Schedules. Begin with the drawing base, \\3D CAD Training\Session 13, Schedules\Session 13 Arch Base.dwg. You will find a base plan with walls and windows already in it. Go to the pulldown menu and select Format/Style Manager and find the Property Set Definitions and see what the types of property sets we currently have in our drawing file. Property sets are where tables like Door Schedules get their information. You will notice there are no property sets for doors currently in our file. Go to the pull down menu and open up the Context browser. We will need to pull in a few door styles into our drawing. Find the following styles and drag them into your drawing using the I-Drop feature and place them at the following locations. Input doors into your model. Make the front and rear exterior doors and the entry door into the hallway 5-0 x7-0 double doors. Make all the interior doors to the hall ways 3-0 x 7-0. Front Exterior Door

3 Got back to the main pulldown menu and select Format/Style Manager again and look at the new property set that have been put into your drawing when the doors were placed in your model. Click on the door styles and look at the door information stored in the property set. This is generic door style information. But not all the information you will need to fill out a door schedule. Pick one of the doors and go to the properties box. Go to the Extended Data tab. You will see there is a lot of information tied to each door through the property set. Some of this information is based upon the door style, but a lot of it you will need to fill out as necessary based upon the type of door you need for your project. Information such as the Manufacturer, Head and Jamb Details, etc.

4 Go to the lower left corner of the Extended Data tab. You will find two buttons. The one on the left attaches a new property set. The button on the right will detach property sets. Currently they are both grayed out because the only property set associated with a door object is the generic property set that comes with all the doors. To get other information to attach to our doors we will need to attach or create another property set. We will cover creating custom property sets and schedules separately, so for this demonstration, go back to the Content Browser under doors and find the Door Schedule. This is a generic door schedule that include the property set required to run it. Drag it into your drawing, then hit escape. We are not going to put our door schedule in the model file, but the door schedule will include a property set to get it s information.

5 Now go back to the pulldown menu, to Format/Style Manager and look again at the property sets that are now in the drawing file. You will see that the door schedule has now added a property set Door Objects to your drawing file. Click on the Door Objects Property set and see the new information set up to apply to door objects. As you can see, there is a lot more information stored in this property set.

6 Pick any door and go back to the Properties Box, and the Extended Data Tab. Notice the information has not changed, but the button in the lower left corner is not alive, so we can now attach a new property set. Other than the basic door style property set, Property sets do not automatically attach to the doors when placed in the drawing. This because you will likely want to customize what you want to see and how you want it to be formatted. Click the left button to add the new property set brought into the drawing with the door schedule. Notice that only there is only one property set to choose from. This is because it is the only property set associated with door objects currently in the drawing file. Click Ok to add the new property set. Go back to the Extended Data Tab and you will see there is now a lot of new information associated to the door, including the door number. The property set containing the door number is also the place where door tags will get their information.

7 Select the rest of the doors and attach the new property set just as you did for the single door example. You can select all the doors together and attach the same property set to all of them at the same time if you wish. Save your drawing and close it. Now begin a new drawing using the same base template. This will be the file we will actually place our door schedule in. Attach the Arch Base.dwg file as a reference file into the new Door Schedule Drawing. Go back to the Context Browser and find the door schedule again, and drag it into the Door Schedule Drawing. This time we will actually place the door schedule. You will be prompted to select the objects you want to include into the door schedule. Go to the properties box and make sure the option to include scanning xrefs for door objects is included in the selection. All of our doors are in the attached model file. If we do not include scanning the xrefs for the door objects, then we will not pick up any door objects, as we currently have none in our current drawing file for the door schedule. Select your xref file for the table to scan for door objects. Objects other than doors will automatically be excluded from the selection. Pick a location on the screen to place the door schedule. You can drag to set the scale of the schedule table, or just hit enter to bring it in at a 1:1 scale. The Door schedule will look like this. To fill out the appropriate information, such as Material, Glazing, Fire Rating, etc, you will need to go to each door and fill out the information separately, as each door can vary.
