Better and faster customer service -Better service without reducing the effectiveness of risk control reducing operational costs. Off-line. Value-added features -new opportunities for revenue, such as pre-payment products, loyalty, data storage or access type products.
4 Changes and Upgrades Issuer side New data elements in chip authorization and clearing messages Take advantage of online card authentication by validating the cryptogram in the authorization message Use the additional information that is presented within an authorization message to make better authorization decisions Manage new elements in the database relating to the chip, such as risk parameters(optional for off-line transactions) Upgrade the card personalization process to generate and manage cryptographic keys and risk data Use extra clearing data to reduce exception conditions Acquirer side Upgrade networks to carry new chip data elements Enhance the terminal database to manage new data elements within the terminal Upgrade exception systems to use new information to reduce losses Manage cryptographic keys for card authentication If acquirer accept EMV payment cards, then changes and upgrades are not needed on the terminal side
