Handling complex, multi-party cases in jurisdictions across the United States, we have defended thousands of complex cases for insureds of America s leading carriers and self-insureds. NOTABLE EXPERIENCE We have represented developers, general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, product manufacturers, design professionals, and sureties in some of the largest construction defect lawsuits in the Carolinas and across the United States. We have defended numerous toxic tort claims, including a multi-plaintiff toxic tort claim in federal court involving alleged inhalation injuries and claimed damages exceeding $45,000,000. We served as National Counsel for the EIFS Manufacturer insureds of a leading insurance carrier, and in that capacity, defended more than 330 separate construction products liability cases in 19 states involving 1,535 houses, and also defended five putative class actions, defeating class certification every time. We defended four subsidiaries of a multi-billion dollar conglomerate, which is the owner of manufacturers and distributors of exterior claddings, in 103 separate suits involving 163 single-family homes where the average indemnity payment was less than $20,000 and the average attorney s fee per case was less than $19,000.

5 CONSTRUCTION DEFECT LITIGATION Rogers Townsend has represented general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, developers, consultants, material suppliers, and manufacturers in hundreds of construction defect claims. We have handled single-family residence cases, cases brought by homeowners and condominium associations as well as by the class of owners, and commercial and industrial cases. Our firm has one of the largest teams of construction defect lawyers in South Carolina, including one attorney who is a former subcontractor and another who is a former engineer.
