2 ADVANCING TOWARDS EXCELLENCE IN THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL CONTEXT We believe that the university should be attractive to students from over the whole world, in order to assure our mission to retain the best and attract the excellent. We are one of the national universities with a higher growth with regard to the number of students enrolled, including the 9% of foreign students and more than students studying abroad with mobility programs such as Erasmus or Munde, which showy our very important internationalization efforts. Nowadays, we have a lot of partner universities and different institutions which collaborate with us on programs such us: The RCC was created in Nowadays the agreement is between Harvard University and four Spanish Universities in which URJC is part of its council. Since its foundation in 1996, the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos has stood out among 's public universities for its dinamic and vigorous character, conmitted to the progress of society, progress based on an excellent and quality educational system. The academic offer 2015/16 includes more than 40 degrees, 45 double-degrees, and 85 master programs; as well as on-line degrees and english campus. 3 SPANISH, A LANGUAGE WITHOUT BARRIERS Spanish is spoken bymore than 500 million people in the world. It is the official language of 21 countries. It is currently considered the second language for international communication. The UNESCO estimates that in the 21 st Century, Spanish will be more important than English and there will be more speakers of Spanish than English. SPANISH LANGUAGE COURSES AT THE UNIVERSIDAD REY JUAN CARLOS OF MADRID The courses are taught for different levels, according to the European Frame work of Reference for Language Teaching and Learning: A1 (Beginner), A2( Pre-intermediate) B1(Lower intermediate), B2(Intermediate) and C1( Advanced). Students will take a placement test in order to assign their corresponding level. Our language center offers an interactive and communicative methodology, along with grammatical and structural contents. There is also a modern language laboratory with multimedia programs to practice pronunciation and speaking. Our library at the University Language Center will provide students with materials to practice outside the classroom. ADVANTAGES We are a multi-disciplinary university, different than other private language centers. You have greater facility to apply for academic courses for your future studies.
